I live in the San Luis Obispo area of California. A beautiful spot full of photo ops. My photography has won many awards including numerous best of shows. It has been licensed for all sorts of uses, including billboards, wine labels, cd, book and magazine covers and was recently used by Warner Bros for a TV show. However, my love is greeting cards and how image and verse can create a feeling. Sometimes it is so hard to express feelings, and greeting cards can help do that. They can also brighten a day, encourage, support, make light of a hard situation and show caring thoughts of sympathy.

WHAT HAS AN ARTIST FROM UP NORTH, LEARNED ABOUT PAINTING DOWN SOUTH?
"Like a fish out of water, I learned to adapt, appreciate and embrace the color
combinations only found in southern living".
Relocating from Michigan with my family in 1994 to Monterrey, Mexico, I began to realize what a great opportunity I had been presented with. Soon my paintings started to reflect the influence of my surrounds. My color palette went from bland to brilliant, painting with bodacious blues, radiant reds and almost screaming yellows.
As an artist working primarily in watercolors and acrylics, I have traveled and studied in such diverse places as Ecuador, France, England, Canada and of course, Mexico. Each time bringing back to my studio not just the cultural experience, but painting it through the eyes of an “outsider”.
Currently I divide my time between my studios in northern Mexico and south Texas, never running out of inspiration for new paintings. I have enjoyed exhibiting my work at various shows throughout Texas, Michigan, New York and Mexico. My work has been purchased for various private collections in the United States and internationally. I have also worked on a variety of commissioned pieces and currently offer my art work to the licensing industry.

Like most kids, Mike liked to draw and once he started to get recognition for his drawings, he drew more and more. He also liked to make people laugh, so put those two things together and you have a cartoonist on your hands.
Many of Mike's funny ideas come from observing the world around him and twisting everyday occurrences into funny and sometimes totally absurd cartoons, drawings and short animated films.
Mike's cartoons and illustrations have appeared in many magazines, books and greeting cards in North America and Europe. His animated series, The Melon Shorts, has appeared in numerous film festivals around the world and has won a number of awards.

Thanks so much for stopping by my shop here at Greeting Card Universe. My images are based on the photographs I capture, mostly with Nikon cameras and lenses. I am an amateur photographer, and I enjoy living in the foot hills of Arkansas, with the natural surroundings it has to offer.
The natural world provides my canvas for so many wonderful frames, everywhere I look I see the simple beauty, and l love capturing the art of it one frame at a time.
Proust once said, “The real voyage of discovery
consist not of seeking new landscapes,
but in having new eyes.” I rather like his thought!
So nature, and natural scenics, trees, butterflies, leaves, critters, flowers, animals are all you will find here. No people, telephone poles, anything of our modern world.
The most of the human side you will see here are the country roads I enjoy so much that help me get to the destination I want to shoot.
I hope you enjoy brousing my cards, and enjoy the natural world as I capture it through my lens.
My photography has always been a very enjoyable hobby for me, but due to health reason I have not been able to work for some time, and I have come to count on it for income.
So I want to say here, a big thank you to all who have visited my store, and to all those who have purchased my work in the past, and to those that will in the future, a hardy thank you in advance.

Hi, My name is Lynn Dobbins, and ever since I could pick up crayons and draw on the wall, I've been in love with art. My first professional show was at the tender age of four,I've exhibited in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. I now live with my two kids and two cats in the beautiful wine country of Temecula California.
Animals have also played a huge part in my choice of art subjects, Strays have been in and out of my place as long as I can remember. I started out as an equine artist painting portraits, will draw anything that walks,trots,gallops,slithers, swims or crawls. My medium of choice for the last 10 years has been pyrography, AKA woodburning a beautiful if unforgiving art medium, and one which I hope to continue to share with others., though I work in pretty much any medium available, oils, acrylics,pastels, ink,and airbrush.
I am a Proud Juried member of EBSQ Plus, and A member of I.A.P.A The International Association of Pyrographic Artists
