Aloha... I (Sarah) used to be a photojournalist in Idaho, but now live in Maui where I met my best friend (Lavonne) at our apartment laundromat. For many years, Lavonne, a very talented writer, has written a lovely collection of poems that needed to come out of the closet. Sarah creates the photographs - all of them from beautiful Idaho, Montana and Washington, plus a large collection from US coast to coast, and Hawaii. Many of the photographs are Polaroid prints that have been hand manipulated and look like an impressionist painting - a very unique painterly look. Lavonne creates the delightful greeting card verses. Whether or not it was truly serendipity that brought us together - we make a perfect team. My Friend Fluffy - Cards for cat lovers
Hello World!
Introductions are never easy, so I'll cut right to the chase.
My name is Heather, and beyond being a 32 year old photographer and blogger, I am many things. An aspiring polyglot. An avid traveller. A chocolate addict. And hopefully, one day, a successful greeting card cartoonist.
My character is called Fluffy the Cat. (Hey, a generic name is always better than no name at all!) He decided to pay me a visit for the first time during the Christmas holidays of 2010. I was on the brink of losing my mind at the time. The boyfriend was bedridden with a 40 degree fever. My two beloved cats had just passed away, one within a month of the other. And to say that the weather was atrocious would be a grave understatement.
Fluffy came to me at my lowest. For three days straight, I drew ferociously until my sketchbook was overflowing with what would be the beginning of Fluffy's story. At the end of the Christmas break, I knew that Fluffy was destined for bigger and better things. I was determined to have Fluffy on the front of a greeting card by the end of 2011.
Fluffy and I are here to fulfil this very dream. We hope you like our cards and that they bring a smile to you and your loved ones!
