About Me:  At the age of two Kathy’s US Naval family had the good fortune to live on the beautiful island of Oahu in the town of Kaneohe, Hawaii. These breathtaking Hawaii beaches were the first memories etched into this young artist’s heart and mind. The McCartney family did leave the Hawaiian Islands long ago; however memories of Hawaii never left the young artist’s thoughts and today continues to be her source of inspiration. Today, an accomplished artist, she has turned her art dream into a career and teaches oil painting classes to children and adults at Art on The Lane and McCartney Fine Art Studios - 178 East Prospect Avenue - Danville, CA. She loves to share with her students this engaging process of creating colorful works of art with oil on canvas. My subject matter is something I call Tropical Expressions. These are images of tranquil oceans and lush terrain filled with brilliant, translucent colors. These are places I have seen or wish to be. Take good care of the land (E malama I ka ‘aina)
