I am a 46 year old English lady, currently living in the Cayman Islands in the Western Caribbean, having moved here nearly 10 years ago. I trained in the UK at Derby Lonsdale College (now part of Derby University), where I did an Art Foundation Course followed by a College Diploma in Textile Design. Although I work in a different industry for my 'day job' here in Cayman, I love art and design and am very active in the local art scene and participate in many shows and exhibitions. I hand paint all my designs in gouche and finish them off in gold ink.

At the age of two Kathy’s US Naval family had the good fortune to live on the beautiful island of Oahu in the town of Kaneohe, Hawaii. These breathtaking Hawaii beaches were the first memories etched into this young artist’s heart and mind. The McCartney family did leave the Hawaiian Islands long ago; however memories of Hawaii never left the young artist’s thoughts and today continues to be her source of inspiration. Today, an accomplished artist, she has turned her art dream into a career and teaches oil painting classes to children and adults at Art on The Lane and McCartney Fine Art Studios - 178 East Prospect Avenue - Danville, CA. She loves to share with her students this engaging process of creating colorful works of art with oil on canvas. My subject matter is something I call Tropical Expressions.
