As Barbara best describes our friendship, we are "Two bodies with one brain". Sharing a similar sense of wit & humor, we have remained friends since meeting in 10th grade. To date, our collaborative efforts with Saturday Night Live (in the early 90's) would have to rate as our crowning achievement.
Putting humor aside, we've decided to begin by introducing our "In Lieu of Flowers" concept, with regards to Sympathy cards. As obituary postings increasingly request charitable donations be made "In lieu of flowers", we're offering this card as an option. Now the bereaved can be made aware, that you have complied with their wishes. We're also launching a practical approach, which graciously allows you to present a financial show of support. In addition to their grief, many families must face related economic burdens. Issues commonly associated are; mounting medical bills, loss of income/wages and general funeral expenses. Allow the family to decide whether to donate or use as they deem necessary. Also, we've created a few cards for our fallen hero's, which we hope are worthy of their sacrifice. We are John & Susan - horse people - and John is the artist who draws the cartoons. Years ago a friend of ours hung the nickname "Hawk" on him due to his love of hawks and falcons and it stuck. In addition to the horses, John is a falconer and has a Harris Hawk. We also have 2 dogs and a cat. John started drawing horse cartoons early in our marriage and as we had kids (both girls) he started drawing cartoons pertaining to their horse interests - one trains cutting horses and reining horses and the other does dressage and eventing. All of the cartoons are based on horses we've known. He has also done some falconry cartoons and drawings as that's his main interest.

I am a stay-at-home mom, (which I wouldn't trade for the world), fine artist, and graphic designer. Most people can find me dreaming up new ideas, and creating something new in my studio—which has overtaken more room in my home than I am willing to admit!
One of my dreams in life was to publish a family-friendly, community magazine. So, for many years I designed, produced, and published a magazine.
After the magazine ran its course, it was time to slow down—which brought me to a new season in life. Finally, I was able to rejuvenate the passion that was always there—FINE ART!
Currently, I love to sketch childrens' portraits in addition to my photo realistic and whimsical illustration work (mainly in colored pencil and pastels), as seen in my greeting card work.
I am striving to create a weekly syndicated cartoon with my little dachshund drawings based on muses with my own lovable pet doxie. I have another idea for a weekly cartoon—but need to test the waters perhaps in this greeting card format to see what people think.
So many ideas…so little time! Does that ever happen to YOU?
I still enjoy producing work for print, however fine art is, and always will be, my greatest love. I have also found a new passion helping area artists—young and old—discover the joy of art! When I am not busy doing my own art, you can find me teaching others art at several different venues in my community.
