Artist Notes:
Wish your wonderful niece and her husband a Merry Christmas with a card featuring a beautiful blue background with Christmas Bulbs, stars, ribbons, and white doves. The first decorated trees were adorned with apples, white candy canes and pastries in the shapes of stars, hearts, and flowers. For your information Glass baubles were first made in Lauscha, Germany, by Hans Breiner, 1550-1609 who produced garlands of glass beads and tin figures that could be hung on trees. The popularity of these decorations grew into the production of glass figures made by highly skilled artisans with clay molds. Original design by Laurie Schneider, elements by Digital Designs by Elena, Diana'z Designz. FYI: These animals have served as messengers throughout the world, dating back to the 6th Century BC. Cyrus, the King of Persia, used them to communicate with the far ends of his vast empire. Julius Ceasar of Greece often used them, and they were also released with requests for aid during the Franco-Prussian War. The United States continued using them as recently as World War II, and some have even received honorary medals for their valor and service.
