130 years ago, Kishi Chikudo (1826-1897) painted "Tigers by Mountain Streams" onto a six-paneled screen. I have lovingly restored and adapted Chikudo's design for the Chinese New Year of the Tiger, by expanding his original design and removing the lines between each panel. Now these two lovely tigers are ready to celebrate the Chinese New Year in 2034. The subtle tawny colors of the tigers and their rocky surroundings are complimented by two strips of red which give the impression of embossed work. The Chinese characters give a metallic illusion and wish the recipient a Happy New Year (Gong Xi Fa Cai,) .
