This design shows a mandala with the Seven Species, seven kinds of fruits and grains the land of Israel, is known for, arranged in a basket design. The background shows the flowering plants from which some of the fruits grew. On Shavuot in ancient times, the first fruits were brouht to the Temple in a basket. This design represents that tradition and the beginning of harvest season.The Seven Species are mentioned in the Bible in connection with Israel. The bright colors of the design represent the joy of spring and summer, when the fruits ripen. The natural straw-colored basket contrasts with the bright purple, pink, red, and orange fruit. Lush green leaves add more pops of color, with delicate white and red flowers set against a summer-blue sky.
