Samhain celebrates the end of the harvest and the beginning of the darker months. It was thought once that one must leave a saucer of milk for the Cat Sith, a fairy creature of Scottish legend, in order to obtain a blessing during this time, otherwise the cows might go dry. This cat also was thought to attempt taking the souls of the newly dead unless certain observances were practiced. This Samhain blessings card features black cat artwork in soft pastel hues with purple accents along with black text divided by a decorative graphic representing the traditional carved turnip.
