This design shows a mandala with the Seven Species, seven kinds of fruits and grains the land of Israel is known for, arranged in a basket design. The basket represents how a host might present the fresh fruits to guests. A cluster of juicy pomegranates adorns the center of the mandala, surrounded by fig halves and fig leaves. Colorful date clusters, ripe bunches of grapes, and elegant olive branches with olives create the next layer. Wheat and barley sheaves add the last details. The background shows the flowering plants from which some of the fruits grew, with pomegranate buds and olive blossoms. The Seven Species are mentioned in the Bible in connection with Israel. The bright colors of the design represent the joy of the harvest time, when the fruits ripen. The natural straw-colored basket contrasts with the bright purple, pink, red, and orange fruit. Lush green fig and grape leaves add more pops of color, with delicate white and red flowers set against a summer-blue sky.
