Welcome! Someone once said that the only person that really understands a cartoonist...is another cartoonist. That doesn't mean that other people don't laugh...sometimes. But, where the heck does this 'unique' look at life come from? A defense mechanism from a less-than-ideal background? A kid who ate lead paint off his toys? A fall from a tree? It makes no difference...here we are! Now you know why you've seen someone walking down a street giggling about something with no apparent situation in site to provoke this behavior...so walking past you give a wide birth. If he's a cartoonist (& not just a 'nut') he is seeing things in life you cannot see and amusing himself making 'inner cartoons' and can't wait to get home to get the silly idea on paper.
