on Very Black Friday I sold 12 cards earning me a whopping $1.68
today, cynical Cyber Monday I have sold 50 cards................$6.95

To date this quarter I have sold 2,338 cards (which delights me).

However my average price earned per card this quarter to date is now down to 27 cents per card thanks to the .14 cents  earned per card due to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.  And if I get more sales today it will, of course, dip even further.

Not happy...not doing the happy dance.  Feels like a slap in the face.

If GCU decides to offer cards at 50% off, then the artist commission should be AT LEAST 50%...and I don't even agree with offering cards at 50% discount AT ALL!!!  Free shipping?  Sure...but this SERIOUSLY cuts into artist's earnings.

As an artist...I do not feel valued.  As a member of the "GCU family"... I feel like an unwanted child.

GCU is seriously offending the artists that make this site possible.  At least this artist is very offended BOTH artistically and monetarily. Angry

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Just figured this out....
Big FAT IF... IF the 62 cards that I sold were rated at the 'normal' artists commission I would have earned
$29.62 vs the $8.63.....serious bite.

Where do we send donations Linda?   Grin

Wow, that hurts!

What I don't understand is why our commission was reduced from 15% to 10% for these sales.  Is it too much to ask to pay us 21-cents a card?  Even that is miserable for all the work we do to prepare for the seasonal sales.

My sales today have once again not been holiday cards  Angry

We are sorry this has caused so much panic and feelings of un-thankfulness.  Although the Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions are deep discounts that we have intended to offer the earnings calculations were in error using the incorrect commission rate.

See promotions pricing & artists' earnings guidelines established back in April 2009:
http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/forum/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1234896681/15

Artists' commission rate should be based on the pre-discounted price per card (higher rate) and applied against the discounted price per card (lower price).

For example with our current 50% off promotions 1 card sold for $1.39 (reg $2.79):
20% commission rate x $1.39 = 28 cents
NOT
10% commission rate x $1.39 = 14 cents

This was a programming error and all sales using these promotions will be recalculated and reflected in your earnings reports by end of day tomorrow, Tuesday.

Again, our apologies for the error.  undecided

Thank you Mindy. unfortunately the holiday caused a delay in hearing from GCU so it allowed us to panic a bit.  Thank you for your attention and the correction.

Who'd have thought .28c would sound so good Grin Wink
Thank you GCU for restoring some dignity to us artists Smiley

Also two questions....
Any thoughts on limiting it to Holiday cards only in the future
and
the situation with the promo code working on orders placed throughout the weekend?
