Changes to the GCU Artist Pages

Hi Everyone,

We made a change earlier today that should improve the speed and overall experience for GreetingCardUniverse.com for both customers and artists.

We've added a few new servers and basically split the site so that the artist areas are now on one set of servers and the rest of the site is running on a separate set of servers. Previously both the artist and customer areas were both running on same group of servers.

Artists will still access their administration areas the same way that they have in the past, however you'll notice that once you login the URL will change to http://artist.greetingcarduniverse.com.

If any of you notice any strange behavior while browsing the site, please post here to let us know.

Thanks Shaun, I have noticed a change tonight, I don't know if it has anything to do with the change. The scrolling speed is very fast now.

I did have one problem uploading this afternoon, and it's probably me. The upload limit for an idividual file is 3.85 mega bytes I was at the very limit 3.8, and couldn't get it to upload. Can computers vary in the file size numbers? I'm taking it down in size a little more, so no problem, but I was just wondering so I won't get so close to the limit again. Norval

Sometimes I save at 3.8 but it's really 3.8.something and though I think it's small enough to upload to GCU it's really just a bit over. I think, but don't quote me, that 3.84 is OK but 3.86 is too high. So you may have to go down a bit on quality, but as long as it's still 10 or above you should be fine even if it goes down to 2.75 or so. Something I do with very detailed black and white is use a higher ppi (with B&W line you can go up to 600 or higher (at 5x7) and the JPEG is still under 3.8). Fool around with it a little.)
