Elena,
I'm so sorry to hear that your printed cards were disappointing.
I ordered twenty of my Valentines (my first order with over 200 cards in my store) while they were on sale and bit my nails to the quick while waiting to see the finished product...Received them yesterday.  And they are OUTSTANDING.  I was absolutely blown away with the quality.  So you see something out of the ordinary definately went wrong in your process somewhere.  Most artist are thrilled with the quality of their cards at GCU.  But you are not the first complaint I have heard...I know something can and does go wrong occasionally.
Other issue has been PACKAGING.  A friend of mine who is a Published Poet/Author and editor and publisher, ordered 9 of my cards.  She told me her cards were of superior quality.  BUT the shipping was shameful.  She said her cards were mailed in a flimsey white paper envelope and that her card envelopes were mangled.  She and I both contacted GCU about this.  Never heard back from them....But MY cards were shrink wrapped, packed in a cardboard box And Bubble Wrap was used to fill the extra space!  WONDERFUL WONDERFUL JOB!
Thank you GCU!!!
So my message is Elena, I am sorry of your bad experience, but hang in there, keep in contact with GCU and I KNOW they will help you get everything straightened out.  They are truly customer oriented...
SueB

I am glad I ordered to send it to me first... it is absolutely unacceptable to me. The way it looks on the website and in reality, two different things. Very faded colors, I barely see the image. Is it the card or the printing?

My friend ordered 4 cards from my shop.  She got them today and she said they are gorgeous, and she is very pleased.  3 were glossy and 1 was matte.  I asked her about vibrancy of the colors and she said yes thats great.  As far as a border goes one of the cards had a red border that I had put there and she said it was beautiful and perfect.  The others were full bleed without white borders and were in her words, perfect.  This makes me very happy because my friend and I worked closely together on the cards to make them just as she wanted.  They are for her grandchildren, so this was very important to her.  Thank you GCU for great print quality and card stock! Sorry to hear your cards were not what you expected Elena.

I  received my "test card"a few days back, and it was perfect. Top notch quality, and all the colors just as they were supposed to be.
I shall purchase a cross section of the rest to see how the others come out, but I have no fear they shall be great, too.
Kudos to GCU for a quality product, my husband says they are better than Hallmark  Wink

Hi Olivia,

Sorry it took so long to answer your question.  Ernestine is correct.    We use Print On Demand technology which is digital printing.

If you want detailed information just google the HP Indigo and Kodak NexPress printers.    Those are the printers used for our cards.

Hope that helps.
