Thank you, Mindy - I think I'm clear about making the actual cards now, thanks to all the help from the reviewers but I still think it would be a good idea if you could repeat all the steps in detail for anyone else who is just beginning and give us a bit of clarification about categories and keywords etc  - all in one place.

I had a lot of trouble getting Tom's video to work - maybe my connection was too slow but the voiceover didn't match up with what I was seeing and one ended quite a time before the other. Reminded me of the tortoise and the hare  Grin When I went back and watched it more recently, it worked perfectly and was enough to get me started but didn't go into things like the 'wiggle room' or categories for age-specific etc.

I made a new photo card and when through the process and went into "manage cards" but there was no "transparency zone checkbox?? I left it there for the reviewer to see if I made it right this time lips sealed

Hi Terry,
I'll have our review team take a look at it now so you don't have to sweat it out over the weekend  Wink

Thank you Mindy, I will let you know the results.

I posted an outline of how I made them in Artist Chatter.

Good feedback, thank you!   And thank you for your patience and persistence working with the review team Smiley

Your video & voice delay was likely a common issue of buffering - basically a delay in the different data loading to your computer for your use.

One thing that really needs clarifying is the inside text rule about not using placeholder names.

I assumed that as the customer was able to change placeholder names on the front cover, they would also be able to do the same for the inside. Seems logical to me - ie if a customer can change the inside greeting/text even on a normal card, why can't they change the names?

In fact I've had several photo cards approved where I used names on the inside to be consistent with the front of the card.

But now a different reviewer has asked me to change the names/date etc to Name: ________ and so on.

I'm all for learning from my mistakes but when the rules change from reviewer to reviewer, it's difficult!

I've also come across approved photo cards by other artists with placeholder names and dates and times that the customer will need to change.

Also the issue of the size of the photo area has arisen with one card returned because the area is too small and others, where the area is exactly the same, approved - and many photo cards by other artists with smaller photo areas than mine.

This inconsistency really does make it difficult to learn and involves us in extra work too sometimes   Sad

Hi Judy!

You may find this previous Forum threads helpful as they offer clarification of the issue you bring up:

I remember a post by Mindy on the same issue of instructional text, but can't find it. As I recall, her information was no different than that given by the reviewer in this thread.

Thank you, Corrie!

In the meantime, I've had an email from the reviewer saying that she was mistaken and that we can (and should) put placeholder names in photo cards - and asking me to change it back.

This is why I think it would save us all a lot of trouble if detailed instructions pertaining to photo cards were all in one place.
