Sell this Card - help?
Apr 21st, 2011, 6:52am

Hi Guys -

I know how to grab text or image links for reposting to my blog ... but what I am having a problem with, is that the resulting image is teeny tiny (see http://dogbreedz.blogspot.com/ about 1/3 of the way down the page, my french bulldog easter card is itty bitty)

How do I make the images large and glorious (like on Connie's GCU blog/nesletter) without losing image quality?

Thanks in advance!

HI Peggy,

You don't if you grab the link from GCU.  That's all GCU offers is the small one.  If you have this card up on Zazzle, you can grab a bigger image.  On blogs, I usually just put several of GCU small ones along one line, so I'll have 4 to 6 of them in a row and that gives a nice appearance.

If you want to link to your own cards, no problem. Just re-size your original image to the size you want (or grab it from Zazzle, etc., as Doreen suggested), then you can use the Sell This Card tool (that's the $ sign) under the card at GCU to nab a text link you can use to link the photo.

I, too, like to use several of the small images in a row in my Squidoo lenses. It looks very cute.

Thanks, Gillean! That technique works great, if you don't mind the watermark showing. If you do, you might want to take another route, as the large view on GCU will always have a watermark (if you've said yes to that in your Global Settings).

Thanks, Ladies!

I used the multiple smaller card for my Easter Page at http://www.dogbreedz.net/Easter2011.htm - but sometimes, like on my blog entry, I only want (or have time!) to post a single card - mine (I can use my own re-sized graphic) or someone elses - now I CAN use someone elses, with the view source suggestion!  I don't mind the watermark 90% of the time it doesn't detract at all.

I appreciate the guidance!

Ah, you mean how I got images of other artist's cards at that size? It's not really a big secret. GCU has, quite rightly, disabled "right clicking" on their pages. However, a person can get around this by using a screen capture program. I have one for Firefox. But of course, my purposes are not nefarious.  Roll Eyes And I made sure to link to each card's Card Details Page so if somebody clicks and buys, the artist gets the sale.

Thanks, Corrie!  And for the record, I don't think you have a nefarious bone in your body -  Grin Grin
