I just remembered, when I first joined Cafepress I used to do plain old site addy submission. I remember my sales were pretty good. Then I forgot all about it!  Roll Eyes Here are 2 good ones I have used:

Yahoo! Search Engine Submission

http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html

This next one Submits to 20 search engines: Google, Scrub the Web, Bigfinder, Fyber Search, ExactSeek, InfoTiger, FocusLook, WalHello, Jayde, EntireEeb, Mixcat, SearchSight, WhatuSeek, e-SiteSecrets, Tower Search, Burf, Feedplex, Active Search Results, Anoox, GhetoSearch

http://www.addme.com/submission/free-submission-start.php

This one is new and duplicates some of the one that does 20.  Submits to 44:
Google.com      Google PK
Google SA      WhatUseek.com
InfoTiger.com      ScrubTheWeb.com
EntireWeb.com      SearchUK.com
Altavista.com      Excite
Lycos      ExactSeek.com
Amfibi      BestYellow
BigFinder      Claymont.com
CurryGuide      Debra4homes
EntireWeb      Evisum.com
Gigablast      InfoProbe.net
InfoTiger      KnowBe
MixCat      MSN (BCentral)
Noago      Objects Search
Railler.nl      Searchdepo.com
SearchEngine      SearchSight
SearchUK.com      SearchWho
Sootle      Splatsearch.com
Tripple.net      Walhello
Web-friend.com      WebSquash
WebWizard      WhatUseek
Yaq.com      Zoeky.nl

http://www.searchenginesubmission.biz/freesearchenginesubmission.html

Just remember it is uncool to submit to one search engine more than once. Only submit when you've made major changes or opened a new site. If you submit more than once, they delete you.   undecided  Or, that's what I've heard.

Hope it helps someone. I only wish I'd remembered sooner!  Grin

After several searches, I have been unable to find the link ' create a page'. Can you tell me which area of my FB page I should be looking please.

Actually...submit your websites NO MORE than every 6 to 8 weeks or they will delete you.  Updating sites as I stated earlier is a must if you want to move to the top, but don't 'ping' your sites to servers every time you make major changes unless it's been at least 6 to 8 weeks.

I'm sorry Eve, I've looked repeatedly but the 'create a page' has simply disappeared from my all of my pages.  Sad Maybe I reached my limit because I also have a shop page. Try searching the forums for the subject of "create a page" on facebook or such.

If you ctrl/search it ought to show up. However, I noticed they have made several changes the past week so it may be under a tab or inside another side link.  Huh

This is a great thread! I do a lot of the things mentioned here, but I do not promote to friends as I'm in Canada and the cost is a bit more to buy a card, postage etc., it's been a while since I ordered one so don't ask me how much!  Grin
I might just order one of mine today though, for Nurses Week....as I'm not going to be there to wish them a happy one! (Retired as most of you now know!)
That is good advertising, but as I said cross-border it's not too cost effective.

I have a FB account, but sadly I have suspended it for a while now as I just got sick and tired of all the Farmville requests, the constant messages from people I don't know etc.   Wink Cheesy
I'm not all that "social" in that way....it's all I can do to keep up with forums and my blog!  I thought one day...what the heck am I doing this for? It was just a relief to shut it off....(I know some of you won't understand why I feel this way, but some I'm sure will!)
Then someone on Zazzle mentioned to me about doing a Business page.  They also mentioned setting the privacy settings so I can control what comes.
I looked into the page thing, but it said you can't have a personal account AND a business account? Did I get that right? Huh
I guess from what you're saying you can have a personal account and add a "page" for business?
Can anyone clarify this for me and how to do it? I found I was just posting my card stuff, and not talking to others much...oh the odd comment here and there but not too many...as I don't know half the people and maybe because I was working too, it felt like I couldn't keep up!  That just didn't feel like "fun" to me!
Not sure whether to keep up the FB account or cancel it altogether.
Does anyone see sales from it?
Sorry didn't mean to hijack this thread....but it's been on my mind about FB and y'all were talking about it!
 Smiley
edit: Oh I see how to do the page now...info arrived while I was typing! But please feel free to answer any of my other questions!   Wink

Hi Avis,

It would be good to have this information in a separate "How-To on Facebook"  Cool thread where members could look it up. I had a heck of a time finding this thread to post Eve's answer yesterday.  Shocked

I'll post what I have later. Still waking up now.  Tongue

Hi Websprinter...do you have a first name? Grin

I think you're right. I was going to start a new thread about it, but saw this one and tacked it on...but it would be better alone. I will do a search first and see if there is something like that in the forum first.

Thanks, Avis Smiley

Hi Avis,

I am much like you, only I started a Personal Page before Fan Pages/Business Pages were available.  Thinking I was doing it for business, but quickly felt as you did...more nonsense than not.  I have sense created my Fan Page and that is growing weekly.

If you really want to know what your gains are by having a Fan Page you'll need to include many tracking devices, which I haven't the time for...What I will say is this...The more BACKLINKS you create on the internet, the more likely you are to move up in ranking and be found, which does ultimate result in more sales.  Having a Fan Page allows you to have that RSS feed on GCU, Zazzle and any other sites you have which creates wonderful backlinks and lets the web crawlers and search engines know you are one of the few who keeps your sites active so you gain rankings.

You do need to have content on your Fan Page, so think about that before you step into it.  If you don't have much to offer, people will not follow you.  By that I mean, something in addition to just posting your sales.  I personally am very glad I stuck with it, because it is paying off now and I nearly turned mine off too  Grin
