Thanks, GCU, for listening.

I was typing English (not foreign language) and getting error messages all over the place (twice), and the bothersome box that remained in place.  Spell check is a great idea, but this was not working to our advantage.  I make my share of typos and other errors, but this particular program was too sensitive and obtrusive.

I use Firefox 3.6.13 on a MacBook.  A couple years ago Firefox folks helped me with a line of their code that made a company program (I was working then and on a PC) go whacky.  Perhaps if GCU contacted Firefox they could find a way around this.

Regards,

Carol

The spell check program we tried communicated with Google for all spelling.    So whatever wasn't recognized, it was due to Google's response to our API request.

My suggestion for artists is to use the Firefox browser and the spell check feature it comes with.    You can turn it On from Tools/Options/Advanced/Check My Spelling.   It underlines your errors as you type, and for suggested words all you have to do is a right click on your mouse, over the incorrect word.

Hope that's helpful.

Hi Nasser,

I have the Firefox Spell Checker on and though it works in many places, it does not work when typing in the Card Title Field or the Keyword Field which is why I had hoped this spell check feature would work.  Maybe there is something on your end that can be tweaked for those fields so that our external spell checkers can be read?

Just a thought...thanks for trying!

Thanks Doreen.

The reason the Firefox spellchecker doesn't work for those fields is because of our spell check program.   It somehow disables it.

So we've made the following change.    Our spell checker will only show up when the artist is using IE (since IE doesn't offer a spell checker).   But when you use Firefox, Chrome, etc, you can now use the browser spell checker.

Please let us know how this works for you.

Thank you Nasser!

So that everyone who uses Firefox knows...

If you turn your Firefox spell checker on, it will work in the keyword box.  It will NOT work in the title field because this spell checker only works where you can type more than one sentence...so says Firefox.

Thanks for that Nasser..BIG help!

The Google spell check works in both places. When using Firefox.
