  Hi Robin,
ODOR is the correct way to spell the word referring to a smell...
I am not sure if ODER is a word..

Instead of using the word "wood" which is the material a table is made from,or a piece of wood to use I WOULD like to say " I would like to go back to changing (instead of changeing)my cards to  glossy preferrence.

I hope this helps.

Ha ha Bette,
Thank you for the typo corrections....I'm very casual when in Forums.. I'm always careful when doing cards.. But I still didn't get the answer I need.

Hi Robin...I won't give you a spelling lesson  Grin

There has not been any complaints in a few weeks and this was my take on it...

Since it seemed to me (and I ordered 25 glossy cards in the first two-weeks of Dec) that this smell issue really was subjective based on people's individual sensitivity to chemical smells.  I happen to love the smell of a new book and pencil shavings, so what do I know.  The cards I received had a slight odor which I would expect from any new product.

What I'm getting at is I chose not to change my cards from Glossy to Matte and certainly have not heard anything about GCU getting cards returned or complaints from customers and I had many bulk orders over the holidays.

I don't think you'll get a better answer, you'll get those who could smell the card a mile away and those that are like me and weren't bothered by it...make a choice and go for it.

Hi Robin,
My face is very red. I misread your query as "Is oder Correct" I am sorry . I thought you were asking, and I certainly would not have replied at all had I read more closely. ,but you know.. that proves 2 things(1) I am human  and make mistakes, and (2 )I am alive. Again I apologize. Thanks for setting me straight.

Bettie... Thanks Doreen for answering Robin's question.

Oh Bettie...you're right!  I see now how your eyes could have read that and answered her spelling question!  Grin Grin Grin

I've done that too, boy aren't our eyes and mind an amazing tool!  Just the other day, Sue sent me an email for a grammar typo she noticed on the inside of a card that not only has been approved for a long time, but has sold over and over again...yet none of us read what was actually written there...until Sue read it  Apparently we all read the way it was supposed to be Grin

Received an order about two weeks ago and there was no odor, but then I never noticed an odor before on the cards.

this thread made me smile  Smiley  I too made the same assumption.  Grin

As an update....we had few to no cards returned since before the holidays due to odor.

Our printing partner however is working on a possible alternative product solution in an attempt to please even the most sensitive of noses  Wink  Stay tuned.

I ordered a bunch of cards and laid them out to air for several days (even in another room), and thought the odor was dissipated, disappear, I stacked them up and days later, when I took some of the cards off, the odor hit me again.  I would be afraid to sell them to anyone because of the way I reacted, but others I've asked don't smell it.  I reset my cards to matte, just because of this.  It really is a shame that some of us suffer from such sensitive noses,  Shocked

The great thing about GCU is that if I WANTED a refund, all I had to do is mail them back.  I have never had any issue with the integrity of this company.  Quite the contrary.  I feel they bend over backwards to help the very inexperienced (ME)  AND the total professional.  That makes me feel really secure.  I took this venture on to give my self esteem a boost. It has. I have been hospitalized for major depression twice. The last was in October.  There are days I couldn't will myself to get out of bed.  Thankfully, meds have helped and I try to challenge myself every day to prove I can do it, even if it is as minor as winning a game of Freecell.  Every card I sell is a pat on the back.  And it is fun trying to outdo myself.  Teaching yourself all this from scratch at a NOT QUITE old dog stage is a challenge, but boy, when I sell a cancer support or sympathy for loss of Mother (just yesterday) it is an AMAZING privilege.
Thanks GCU.

I'm stepping off my soap box now......
