No biggie but a small query about commission
Jan 2nd, 2011, 9:51am

I was just wondering how when I sell 5 cards in one sale at 50c each I seem to lose a cent each time and end up with $2.49
I would have thought it would be $2.50, it`s not much out of one sale- but add all such sales up and it builds up substancially over time!

We make 20% on the sale of cards over $2.29.  I suspect the customer paid $2.49 per card for a total of $12.45.  20% of $12.45 is exactly $2.49.  On a per-card "report," GCU opts to show rounding to the nearest penny, thus 50-cents.

Thank you Tom, that was a most enlightening answer to Karen's commission question.  I will be making more frequent visits here this year than I have in the past because I wish to promote my previous efforts and thus the site as a whole.  May this year bring all of us great prosperity and abundance, in whatever forms it takes.

Thanks Tom, it sort of makes sense except then maybe it shouldn`t read commission of 50c each, it`s bound to bring up more queries in the future!

we use percentages to determine your commission but we try to help you visualize how much you'll be receiving by including the amount you are paid per card, which can be slightly inaccurate.  This can get a little confusing for multiple quantity orders.

For example:  You will earn 20% of 1 card sold at $2.49, which would be $.498, and we round this up to $.50 since this .498 is not a real dollar amount.

If someone purchases 5 cards at $2.49 and you earn 20% per card sold this amounts to $2.49.
