Yeah Mindy, why can't us artists have a private place for forum posts

Just wondering.  Huh

Thanks for the response, Mindy. I just totally misread/misunderstood. That's what happens when I work into the wee hours! It's all clear to me now. But I'm surprised to see that the GCU Support thread is public. Are all the threads open to general readership?

Thanks,
Pat

Yes, all threads are open to the public.  Many prospective artists will read the forum prior to joining.  AND the forum provides a lot of data rich content that gives us extra brownie points on search engines.

What board do you feel should be private and why?

Probably only the GCU Support thread. That seems to be the best place where a wide variety of detailed and sometimes "outsider-sensitive" information can be shared.

I guess I feel that a prospective artist can get an accurate feel for the closeness and great support within the GCU community everywhere else on the Forum. But perhaps only active members can access the inner workings and conversations.

But as you say, search engine ranking is important.

Thanks for asking,
Pat

Well, to me when it says artists only it should be just that. I do not think the public needs to know everything we artist think about, complain about, or want to know about. If a customer reads some of the complaints by the artists here, it may give them a negative outlook on GCU. None of us want that.

I just think we should have a space we can call our own, that's all.
