Well now, apparently I missed the excitement. Just came in to see what was happening that I got a small boatload of orders tonight (ok it was a raft-full but a little flurry nonetheless)

Now can ya check my cards in please  Wink

LOL, Coleen, ROLMAO....Funny coincidence:  Just sold a card I created "back in the day"...2007 @3 days after I started here....never sold 'till today.  Has 3 hoes on the face cover and a sorry piece of holly  (actually the hoes are pretty sorry too, but what the hey I was just getting my feet in the creative furrows)...it's message is "Hoe  Hoe Hoe"...so if you need a hoe...LOL

Those e-mails were kind of exciting!  Even if they were repeats, they meant more money.  Thank you.

Mindy...  Just so I truly understand..  Does your post below>>> *****************

Thank you GCU for restoring some dignity to us artists Smiley

Also two questions....
Any thoughts on limiting it to Holiday cards only in the future
and
the situation with the promo code working on orders placed throughout the weekend?
Pamela Smiley

To answer your questions...
No plans on limiting it to specific cards in future promotions
and
weekend sales using the promotion code will stand but will be recalculated with the higher earnings rate

****************** mean that the sales on the 27th Saturday and 28th Sunday when GCU did not offer any discounts to the public (outside of that code error) pay us the lessor commission too?  or are those at the normal commission rate?

Lj...it appears that sales made over the weekend on "non sale days" are also being honored...

Hi, Linda,

I think that what LJ is asking about, if I may be so bold as to assume, is that for sales that happened on Saturday 11/27 and Sunday 11/28, some customers used the promo code, which was supposed to have been expired, which resulted in the 14-cent commission, which was bumped up to 28-cents, rather than the 56-cents, which would be the correct amount for a single card sale.

I'm curious about this, too, is the 28-cent commission going to replace what the artist would have received on those days had the code been retired?

Thanks!

For anyone interested in Cyber Monday, in general, here's a link:

I guess that it was a big success!

Yeah... What Penny said..   I ask because I see in my adjusted e-m from last night that the cards sold on the 27th or 28th were only adjusted to the 28 cent price.    So.. being that those were not sale days I assume there was an error in the e-mail calculations.  Not that I sold so many cards that it amounts to a lot of money however income is progressive on a POD site so I thought I should get clarification by dates from a GCU admin.  Thanks!  Smiley

Hi Tanya.. Yes.  I saw that post.. but..  What does it mean?  The higher rate being the standard non sale earnings? Or the code error adjustment earnings for those non sale days?   I read>>>

"weekend sales using the promotion code will stand but will be recalculated with the higher earnings rate"

as meaning the true commission earned but my e-mail does not reflect that so I was looking to understand Mindy's post more clearly.   Sorry to be stupid about it but I just do not really understand her post.  Did you get full commission or the lower one then adjusted?  If I can ask.. If not.. that's cool too..   Cool

I guess to me I thought that the consumer still got to use the code and receive the sale price on non sale days but we still got paid the normal commission..  but ..  I am now thinking.. that is not at all what happened huh?

It appears to me that "the higher rate" is the 28 cents vs the "lower rate" of 14 cents.

Wow, I just checked my adjusted commission earnings emails for the black Friday and Cyber Monday adjustments and was surprised to see I wasn't receiving the .28 per card as Mindy mentioned we would receive here in the forum.  A couple of my emails in question were for bulk card orders.  One order of 150 cards and another card order of 300 cards.  So I contacted Artist Services and was shocked to learn that GCU allowed the buyer to receive the "bulk" discount price AND get an additional 50% off of that price?  Really??  Seriously??  Uggggghhhhhhhh      Angry Angry

When we use a discount coupon at a store, we can't use it on already discounted sale priced items!!!  I am very surprised you allowed both discounts.   Angry

GCU, I hope you reconsider what everyone has stated here in this forum thread and reconsider making adjustments to this sale for next year.

Sorry I just had to vent!!

Wow!  Sheryl!

So your 150 card sale, each card was approximately $1.00 each (50% of $1.99) and your 300 card order was for approximately 90-cents each (50% of $1.89,) right?

That sounds very disappointing to me.  I can understand your need to vent.  Smiley
