could some of these "late" promo commissions be delays in credit card processings from BF sales?  Just wondering (tho I'd be miffed too, if it happened to me ...)

I doubt it, it gives you the date of the sale in the email.

I see it's on again - Cyber Monday.
It does seem a little extreme.

I only sold two cards last Friday, so I'm not sure if I'm feeling upset at the 14c commission or the fact that I did not sell more of my cards at this ridiculously low price. Grin

I give up! What is Cyber Monday? I only found out about the US version of Black Friday the other day and now we have "Cyber Monday".

There was no warning about any of this. More communication in future from GCU Admin, please!

Cheers (I think),

Black Friday, Cyber Monday - it's a mystery to me to. Although i think it relates to the busiest shopping days for Christmas shopping in the US.

You're right about it being a mystery!  Smiley  "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" are not big shopping days for us. Christmas shopping really starts when the school holidays begin from the end of this week onward. The kids are off school for 6 to 8 weeks until nearly the end of January. Oh well, from my point of view, Monday is nearly finished, anyway! It's 9.30pm in Australia now. So, it looks like Cyber Monday will continue right into Tuesday for us.

Cheers,

Hi Rosanne and Marion, Smiley

Black Friday was explained well a few posts back, it's the deep discount day for shopping in the actual brick and mortar stores. Cyber Monday is the equivalent for shopping in the online stores.
As far as the 14c.....a sale is a sale and promotion of one's store, and GCU of course..... but it's a little hard to swallow getting only 14c for cards across the board I would prefer it was limited to Christmas holiday cards if we must have it. cry

I haven't sold any 14 cent cards. Yeah!!!!!!!! Grin

cry I really don't know how to feel about this.  undecided

Should I be happy?  Smiley Should I be sad?  Sad

I know money is money, but I am like some of you. I think they should only be allowed to buy Christmas cards for that since this is the Christmas season. I also think that we should have been given a choice of being included in this sale or not. Or, at least be able to pick out which cards they can buy for that low price. Stores get to decide which items they allow to be sold at cheap prices, why can't we decide for our own stores?   Some cards have more work put into them than others.

Just a thought GCU. Why can't we pick which ones? It is our stores.  Huh

Hi, Everyone!

It's Cyber Monday!  Woo-hoo!  What is Cyber Monday?

Here in the US, Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday, so most people have this day off as a holiday.  Many businesses also close on Friday, or people take that day off, too, so they can shop the Black Friday sales, then of course they are off from work on Saturday and Sunday, so they've been away from their computers (in theory) for 4 WHOLE days!  So, as soon as they get to work, what do they do?  Online Christmas shopping, of course!  (Well, that's the story behind Cyber Monday.)

I guess that we should be grateful that GCU isn't offering FREE cards today.  Sad

So, happy Cyber Monday to you all!

Well, the artist choosing which of their cards play in the 'sale' and/or having the artist opt in or out of a sale would most likely be a logistic nightmare for the programmers and our poor customers...unless when an artist opted out of the sale, their store was removed from the general GCU Marketplace for the duration of the sale...which of course no artist wants.

Having only Holiday related greetings/invitations included in the sale should not be difficult as these words are in our keywords (or certainly should be) so they could be tagged or marked somehow as being part of the sale.

The other alternative is for GCU to re-evaluate the sale...offering the cards to customer for 50% off is fine if that 50% off in profit is spread across the board, but that was not the case.  If GCU gave the artist 25-cents per card rather than 14-cents on these big sales, we probably would not be complaining.

GCU I ask you to look at it from our point of view...  It's a 50% off sale, yet it took 4 cards to sell at 14-cents to equal the sale of 1 card.  I ask you to consider on these big 50% off sales to give the artist 25-cents a card so we only have to sell 2 cards to make the money we make on 1.  I think most of us could live with that, just like we could live with 14-cents a card if it was a bulk sale of our cards because we have the 'bigger' number to drool over, but having sales come in 1 card at a time for 14-cents is very discouraging and I have to agree; insulting.

It would also be nice if there was a way for GCU to put a limit on the number of cards that are allowed under the 10% off sale, which is often what brick and mortar stores do.  Just a thought.....
