I am not very happy to have my commission cut to 10 for single card sales! If the card sells for half its normal value, as in the promotion today, we should get half the commission ie. 28p per card. Instead we are getting 14p per card! Not fair. undecided

Not good enough. I am selling Valentines cards at .14c. They would probably have been sold later on at the full price. A sale is not a sale when it is a rip off.
Selling the cards for half price for a day is fair enough if CGU and we both get a 50% reduction. Reducing our commissions on those sales to a quarter instead of a half is just insulting.
I hope it is a mistake.

I am not happy at all with a lousy .14 for the work that goes into making  cards.  That's just wrong!  There needs to be a set minimum that we get paid per card and not anywhere near .14 .

Count me in as another unhappy one.  cry

I got a sale of 75 of one of my Christmas cards and I got 0.14 cents per card too.  Shocked

Thank goodness it was just for one day.

I think too big a discount was offered.  Shocked

There is not a whole lot we can do, they set the price and we get the chop off..

Perhaps asking in a pole next time would be better, to see if we all want
the same thing, but yes its one day & *thankfully* it's all over the place
same with zazzle, not just the business cards, the little popup keeps altering
there to, cards, mugs, iphone cases etc, were getting the snip today all over the place,
and we cant do a thing, the stone rolled.

Same here.. had some sales.. all at 14 cents per card.  I had to laugh..  Glad for the sales but not so much the commission given..  Z too.  I think it was 70% off there a few hours today.  but.. since my cards are priced a bit higher there so it was more than 14 cents but not a heck of a lot more..   Smiley Sad  all at once..

I've only sold 3 cards today, but I have to agree with everyone.... I'm all for a sale every now and then, but why do the artist commissions knocked down to 10%?  It just doesn't seem fair that because GCU decided to sell the cards at half price that we should be expect to absorb their loss by having our portion of the sale reduced to a fourth of what we would normally get.  I love GCU, and I normally look forward to the emails telling me something sold, but today I'm not excited at all.

I totally agree with all of you and it is one big reason I do not promote any of these sales.  You may say a sale is a sale, but isn't it just taking advantage of the million artist seller out there?  It would be different if the company and the artist SHARED in a promotional discount.  But I hate being used!

This just doesn't sound right to me either.

If the sale is normaly $2.79 and GCU gets $2.23 that leaves the creator (us) with 56 cents from the sale, if the sale comes directly from the GCU website. That means that GCU is getting 80% of that sale, right? We get 20% right?

Now that the card is half price, $1.39 and GCU thinks they are still getting 80% that leaves us (the creator) with 28 cents.

If this is correct and we are only getting 14 cents instead of the 28 cents, then GCU is getting 90% of the sale and we are only getting 10%.

I can see why you are all mad. They are running this sale yet we are hurting from it, not them. They are getting even more of our money. This is just not right!!!!!!!!!!

That is a dog who bit the hand that feeds it!  Angry

I haven't made a sale yet today, and you know, this is the first time that I have ever hoped that I don't.  Sad

I'm not mad Rebecca.   Mad is not the right word (for me anyway)..  I guess it just comes with the territory of online selling..  Everyone is having a Blk Fri special.. GCU is no different..  The bubble only did 20% but on selected items only.  I sold a few things there and the comm was ok..  makes it a bit more even for me.  Not mad though..  On the other end...   I really glad someone wanted any of my cards considering how many awesome ones they can choose from.. No matter the selling price.. that part always makes me feel good~   Cool
