PhotoShop File size
Sep 16th, 2010, 9:50am

Please help. I am going crazy. I recently uploaded a card for Hanukkah and then I noticed I spelled a word wrong so, I deleted, went into PS and fixed it. Done, so I thought. I went to upload it again and I got message saying I have exceeded the  file limit. All I did was change a word. It was the same file. SO I thought maybe the filter I had on it increased the file size, why it would I dunno. so I changed deleted the filter and just had color background. The file is now at 20,044 KB anf the jpg file is 1.044 what gives.Anyone have any insight??? I don't think I a=have had this problem before in all the years I have been working in PhotoShop.
Thanks in advance

When you changed the lettering did you remember to change the file into a jpeg before uploading it again. Where the layers flattened? I tend to make this mistake. Just a possibility.
Good luck!

Yep, I even flattened the image first before saving it, I also tried merging the layers. All I did was change a word. and the word I changed I made smaller. Go figure.

I have had that happen a few times too..    What I did was to lower the "Image Option" save number at the end in P.S. down 1 or 2 then it worked fine..  Try that.. maybe from a 12 to a 10 say..   I have no idea what it happens.. Something we did.. lol..   Smiley

I think it's possessed. I just uploaded another card with filters and layers and it loaded just fine. I noticed there are some other cards that are high as well. I have even tried re-creating this card and step by step saving it, and reading the file size after I get past the first layer... it doesn't matter, the size shoots up. But why this card????

Is it possible something other than "Standard" got clicked underneath the "Amount" numbers..  like..  "Baseline or Progressive"?   That could increase the size quite a bit..?

Holy Hannah this is just crazy, wow Lj - that was a good tip,I'll hafta to remember that, but it wasn't the issue. I deleted all the files of the last card and started all over with a new photo, this time the file size was around, 6,000 KB. This is just crazy, Thank you all for your suggestions, if anything else comes to mind let me know. Thanks
