OT: A great start to the season!
Sep 6th, 2010, 5:24am

I've been working on our Zazzle calendars, reworking ones from last year and designing new ones. I was shocked to get a comment from someone that I got a "today's best"! Sure enough, Cherie and I's Texas Coast calendar got a todays best! I know many of you are on Zazzle so you would appriciate how excited I am. If you want to look at our new (and slightly tweaked old) calendars you can go here:

We have never won anything on Zazzle so I'm super excited! If anyone has any comments or suggestions on our store I would be happy to hear them.

Right now we make anywhere from 50-100.00 per month. I'm hoping this Christmas is an improvement, though!

Congratulations Angela!  I saw your TBA last night and gave you my congrats.  Your photographs are so wonderful.

Seeing your calendar made me realize I need to re-work my current calendars and perhaps add more on Z. Some have sold very well in past years and I'm sure yours will too.

This is the time when Christmas sales will pick up, I've found.
The best to all of you,
elizabeth

Hi Angela,
I visited your Zazzle site and found two calendars I really liked...left you comments too!

Elizabeth - I also visited you and LOVED your Funny
vegtables calendar - PERFECT for the kitchen.

Seeing your creations, I just created my first calendar http://www.zazzle.com/beach_dogs_2011_calendar-158568792594715394
I have been photographing dogs on the Carmel-by-the-Sea dog beach and used them to create Beach Dogs 2011....would love some feedback on it as I am thinking about making another calendar.

Do either of you sell calendars? Are they worth the time it takes to make them?

Angela,
What a wonderful calendar and photos! Perfect for anyone who wants a personalized calendar of their pet. Perhaps you could make a calendar for the customer to add their own photos of their pets. I love how you changed the bottom of the calendar (the area with the dates). I've never done that and don't even know how. Very nice effect!

As for selling calendars....yes, some are great sellers! My Iris calendar in particular and are well worth the time to make. I see I need to get going on changing my current ones to 2011 and creating more. Right now I'm busy making the new address labels and Christmas To/From labels.

Happy Selling,
elizabeth

Congratulations Angela and Cherie!!  It's a wonderful surprise to receive those Today's Best Awards isn't it?

I have four stores on Zazzle that do very, very well each month.  Personal Expressions was opened about this time last year and Business Expressions opened February 2010 and is the slowest to get rolling.  The holiday season starts up big on Z in October.  I had been on Cafepress for nearly 10-years and the store has never done much in sales.  When Cafepress changed their marketplace pricing so the artist only gets 10% of a sale instead of what they have marked the price up, I began the move to Zazzle.  I am still moving and will eventually shut the Cafepress store down.  Why pay for a store that doesn't sell when you can sell very well in free store?

I'm doing the dance of joy for you Angela...congrats again!!

Hi Angela,
Congratulations on your accomplishments!

I also have a couple of shops at zazzle and I was wondering if anyone knows how do you transform your 2010 to 2011 calendars without  beginning from scratch?

It is easy to change the date on the front cover, but  how do you change the 2010 in the month sheet? They seem to be locked or at least I could not figure out how to change them.

Anyone has any idea, how to go about it?

Thanks,
Leonilde

Hi Leonilde,
I've been re-doing my calendars all afternoon, so I well know how to do this by now. It is really hard to see it.

Click the button - Choose your style, size and color.
Under the wire colors you'll see "Date style and options: edit"   Click "edit" and choose your start date there.

I know, I know.....very UNfriendly and hard to find the first time.

Happy calendering!

To answer the question about how well calendars do, I think I sold 8 last year. I really enjoy making them.
I have to redo mine every time because I change the cover for the current year. I guess it would be better if I could find a different way, but it also allows me to replace pictures when I have something better for the year.
I'm hoping this year will be a good calendar year. I always try to get mine ready before Zazzle has a big calendar sale like they usually do. That's when I get mine!

Is there a way to upload 2011 calender format onto a mousepad or a greeting card?
