Question about  sold card post to Facebook
Jul 27th, 2010, 7:28am

I love the feature of being able to post your sold cards to Facebook, but they give you a choice of several thumbnails to display- and all of them were for other peoples cards.   I love some of the cards, there are some awesome artists here, but I don't understand why those images come up in the thumbnails and not work from my own store.  I don't get commission for selling those do I?  I hadn't clicked the sell this card icom- If I did, would I?

Hi Trish, I'm not sure about the 'sold card' post, but I know you can post any card that you have created.  Just find the card at your storefront/card store and click on it.  Then scroll down and you will see a button that says fshare.  Click on that and log in to facebook to finish posting it.

I love sharing my cards with my friends!

Good luck to you! Smiley

Hi Trish

Same  Grin I was wondering that as well, and it would be awsome I think!!..... if we could have Recently sold on the title when we post it to Facebook, so that people can see it was sold, or it just looks like spamming links...... not sure if it's possible but much nicer if title went along the lines of...........

**Recently Sold** 90th Birthday Card etc etc

Grin although I am a happy bunny as is, but just thinking it might be a nice feature

Hi Trish & All...

Trish...I believe there was a post within the past two weeks which said that your 'referral code' is indeed built in to that FB posting so no matter which card is clicked on, if someone purchased a card, yours or another artists, you would receive the referral.

Here is what I do which speaks to some of the other comments.  When I click on the FB icon on the email, I make sure my card that just sold is the one showing (just thumb through them if it isn't) and then I write a thank you to what ever town and state just purchased one of my "whatever cards".  If you just click the post then there isn't anything there to let your viewers know you sold that card, but you certainly can and should write something there before posting.

On Zazzle we get a first name usually which makes the post even more personal which certainly would be a nice touch for GCU to add, but none-the-less, you can write about the sale of that card before posting it.  Unfortunately, what I haven't been able to figure out is how to make the FB button on the GCU emails post on my business Fan Page vs my personal page but its okay for now  Grin

Anywho...that's what I do.  Food for thought  Smiley

What a cool way to get our referral links out there,
I was also wondering if we got a percentage of that, which is only fair, if we don`t sell ours, we have a change of selling a fellow artists` card.

I used to add "Just sold card from someone in Illinois." Not keeping in mind...fbook is filled with people that know the same people you do....sold a birthday card to a friend in the UK...who bought it for a mutual friend in the UK.  WinkSo after the fact, they realized...they got a preview of their  b-day card. OOPs!

So..I dont put what state I sold it to anymore. lol. Roll Eyes

Hi Trish,
You actually do get commission for cards sold through that link  Smiley

I'm not exactly sure why your images would not have been available.  Unfortunately Facebook determines what images you have the option of using but from what I've seen in the past, the card that sold is usually the first or second image when you scroll through the available thumbnails.

Facebook pulls the thumbnails for your card plus a few other cards in the same category, so that's why you're seeing images of other people's cards.

One other thing to keep in mind is that if you sell multiple cards in an order, the "Share this Sale" button will only link to the first card on the list.
