Putting type on cover?
Jan 28th, 2010, 9:44am

I am new to this and have a question. Is there a way to put copy on the cover of a card? I have looked for a way to do it, but don't see that option. If not, I think we should be able to do so, as it would enhance our cards. Thanks.

Use Photoshop (or other photo editor) to add text to a picture, Make a card with a photo front.

Hello Gina,

Welcome to GCU!!  To add to Phyllis' correct response, you need to create the entire card front off-site with any imagery and text you wish to have, then upload that as a complete card front.  The inside text is done on-site when you create the card.

Here are two great places to go with lots of great info on how to create cards here and how to work with the site.  These are brand new and well worth a read and bookmark!

Good luck!

Thanks for answering my question--apreciate it. I thought it might come down to putting the copy on the photo myself and them importing it to this site. I think it would save time to be able to do it all here, however. That's unfortunate.

Gina, in my opinion, it may save time, however the cards would no longer have the same unique quality that they do now.  There will always be severe limitations to what can be done on an 'online layout' program vs a design program.

again...just my opinion

Doreen you are right, one cannot tweak the cover type on site, I'm refering to sites that offer this option, like one can in a design program.  This comes from one that made his living as a typographer and lettering artist for many years.
