3.  How much money will I earn?
You will earn $0.50 for each card that your shoppers buy>

will this be changed if they do a bulk purchase?

The official answer to this question is the seller will earn 50 cents for each card sold, up to a maximum amount of $25 per order.

"Sell This Card" is now live.   When you logged into your artist accounts you'll see a small $ icon below each card on the GCU category pages and on your store pages.

Great idea, but I'm still not sure how this works for the artist who created the card if the card is sold by someone else.  Am  correct that, in this case, "the seller" (getting $0.50) is the person showing the card on their website - not necessarily the creator?  If this is correct, how much is given to the actual artist?

Hi Carol, artists will still receive their commission for any their cards that are purchased when a shopper comes to GCU from a "sell this card" link.

The seller (the person that posted the link that the shopper clicked) will receive a commission as well, which would be 50 cents for each card purchased by the shopper that they referred.

So for example, if I posted a link to one of your cards on my website, and a customer clicked that link and purchased your card, you would receive your artist commission of 56 cents for the sale, and I would receive a seller commission of 50 cents for referring the customer.

Hope that clears things up, let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks, Shaun.

This is a generous setup for both parties.  I see no down-side!  Bringing more customers to GCU is a very good thing, and we all benefit.

This feature is extremely promising and is so beneficial for those who put it to use!  Take a look at this thread to see how Denise is already putting this tool to use http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/forum/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1268298857/0

The opportunity here is limitless... If you already have a blog, website, social network account, email newsletter, or any other web 2.0 properties on the web, you can simply add these new links, and can start earning even more money for sending traffic that converts to sales!   Cool

If you haven't published any unique content yet, we are working hard to put together a tutorial that will help you understand how to put this new tool to use right away, and how to start making more money!

Does the seller commission work for just that one card?  What if the shopper starts there and ends up buying another card from GCU based on the entry point for the specific card. Does the seller commission work for other cards?

The seller commission works for any and all cards that the customer purchases on the initial order, with a maximum commission of $25 per order.

For example, if the customer finds your blog and clicks on an image of a card they like, they will get directed to that card on GCU.  Say they add that card, quantity of 1 to the cart, and then find 9 other cards they also add to the cart, and then check out.  You will earn $.50 for each card the customer purchased on that order, for a total of $5.00 for simply referring the customer.  If they were all your cards that were purchased, then you earn both the card seller's commission $5.00 as well as the artist's commission $5.60, for a total of $10.60 for that order!  (assuming there were no discounts or promo codes involved in the order)

I like to call this above scenario 'double dipping' and unlike with chips & dip... we not only encourage double dipping, but we celebrate it!  Cheesy

Wow, that is really great, Miles.  Now, I still have a question. Let's take your scenario another step.
What if the buyer does not end up getting the original card that they clicked on, but chose 10 other ones.
Does that still earn the seller's fee?
