GCU administrators...I have an idea!

O.k., so everyone has been complaining about how they wish their cards could get more exposure, and how best-selling card are at the top so their new cards never have a chance. Well here's an idea. You have the option to sort cards by "newest" and "popular". How about have a "random" option? And how about if you have that as the default sort when the customer first looks at the cards? This should be extremely easy to do, and I think it might really help some of those "in-between" cards get more exposure.

I love it, I like it I want them to do it.  I have been pondering this issue for a while and think the random suggestion is an absolutely fair one.  Three, no make that 5 cheers for your suggestion.

Great idea Angela!  I'm with you 100%!  It would be a fair way for all of us to get exposure unlike it is at the moment.  Having a Random selection as the default would also give a wider selection page by page I would guess.

I love the idea too because there are some great cards buried deep in the categories that rarely see the light of day, mine included Grin
But there's the mercenary sales fairy on my other shoulder that says you put the stuff that sells up front, just like in a regular store.

Perhaps having the options prominently displayed in a button or bar format above the opening page would be inviting to the customer to click each one to see what comes up, customers love to click on obvious colorful buttons...well I do. Wink

Just a thought.

Angela...That`s a wonderful Idea, (I think I said somewhere, the most popular cards sell, because they are always being seen. )
Random Rotation is a great way to view the buried cards...and this way, the older cards, have an equal chance of selling as the newer cards...and as our card collections grow, this would be a good thing.

I hope they take this into consideration. Smiley

Glad to see that this is being aired again. You all might wish to check out the following threads from April and July 2008 when this was discussed before:

Hopefully, randomisation will become a priority - it clearly is becoming an issue with a whole new cohort of artists.

Cheers,

Love the idea.  The cards I sell are the first ones I put on when I first came to GCU,  I guess because they are always at the front of the line???  I have even considered getting rid of anything over 6 months old, just so the new stuff will have a chance to be seen.  But haven't had the courage, the old stuff that sells pays for the new stuff I buy for myself Shocked.

Great advice, Corrie, and a well done site...love that graphic of the "cat in the bag".  You are a very helpful contributor of the forum.

Again, thanks and I will start using your suggestions.
Linda.....after thought.....should I dele the aqua background from my flying horse logo?

Thanks reminding that this has been discussed several times before and for finding the links.  Besides helping the "newbies," it would help those who have been here awhile and/or have a lot of cards. . . to mix 'em up so folks could see fresh designs when they go to a storefront. . . it's time consuming to constantly "mix-up" your store yourself.
We artists would certainly consider it a "random act of kindness!"  Wink on the part of the administrators!
