Back near the beginning of Tom's thread, I suggested using our cards as fundraisers. So not to hijack the Looney thread I am starting my own. I have had this idea for years. Didn't go through with it because of the upfront expense of printing lots of stock that may not ever get sold. POD may make this work. I rekindled the idea after stimulation by Tom's tread. That idea is to create a line of cards that pertain to a geographic area, say Chestnut Hill, a Philadelphia neighborhood. There are lots of not for profit orgs in the area. Schools, both public and private, athletic, social, cultural, ethnic, churches, fraternal organizations that need to raise money. I would photograph (insert here; paint, draw...) area points of interest. Then create blank note cards of those images. Go to the non profits and tell them they could raise money by creating a custom assortment of cards from all the images I have plus I would create one or two exclusive images of their org buildings or logo or charter, whatever, that would be included in their custom assortment. The delivery of the cards needs to be worked out. Either they could come to CGU directly and purchase those cards needed to fill their prepaid orders or I would order all the cards and package them in either boxes or bags to be delivered to the org. I am not sure which way I will earn more money and if the extra money is worth the extra work. What do you all think?
