I am absolutely NOT OK with giving the customer the option of shutting off the BOC credits.  Currently I have my name, the name of my store (krasilni razbor is the name of my art project) and web address to my store on the back of my cards and prefer to keep it that way.

Our greeting cards are our creations - we are very diverse community of artists - this artistic diversity is excellent value worthy of preservation and advertising.

I agree that some of the artist logos do not look professional, perhaps that needs to be addressed.
 
The artist's identities are already squashed in the name of the greater good on GCU. There is not a way for customers to set favorite artists or search for/within artists offerings. It is almost impossible for an artist to have any presence on the board without doing all of the promotion themselves outside of the site and then risk losing the customer as soon as they enter because of the search.
 
I hate to see any more reduction in artist's identities.

MEA CULPA!.............  I confess my ignorance and apologize to anyone who defends the forest including myself. I did not know what FCS stood for and I assumed it was some minor company associated with GCU. I am sending a thousand of apologies!!!   to anyone I offended with such ignorance.
 
Having clarified that, I have to confess something else. I have never concentrated my real attention on GCU logo before and having done that now, I wonder if centering the three lines would result in a more appealing aesthetics. Just a guess...

I Vote for Keeping the artists' Logo and store URL's on the back.  I'd be ticked off if my logo & URL's were left off and feel strongly that this is 1 area that customers should not be able to tamper with EVER. Hey that's my © they're messing with. It's also 1 way GCU and the individual artists grow there business. Taking it off would be like shooting yourself in the foot! I suspect the fact that GCU has both the artists and their own url's on the back has helped earn more sales/traffic to the site vs the early days when GCU didn't even have their own url on the back (never undstood that 1). I also believe we gain more sale by having this info than by taking it off. Too bad if we loose a few sales  - you can't please everyone.  
 
As far as our logos looking professional or not - that's all pretty subjective. I've bought items for cool packaging but I'v never NOT bought things due to a small ugly company logo on the back.  
 
I just looked at my GCU card and compared the back to a Hallmark card and an american greetings card. It's not that much cluttered than these Est traditional card company card backs. I should add that alot of your smaller traditional card compainies do have artists info and more on their backs. Is it 1 particular area that customers are complaining? Also it's not as if GCU tricked them - we do show them the BOC view.
 
Where else can you get custom art for the ridiculous low gcu price - the funny logo w/the artists' url is part of the fee.  -Di

My two cents is as long as the artist's name is present and they can find us on GCU, that's all I need.

FSC:  As is
Logo: As is, but still is a bit too big, imo
Artist pic:  Under GCU logo.  Perhaps a required stylish avatar in lieu of a Photo(?) and always left on
Artist Name or equiv in same font as GCU
Store URL in same font and size as GCU URL
Card Number  (NEW; so shoppers can find this card online)

I like Tom's idea in general.  The BOC is well balanced with his option.  I don't really care about the bar code and pricing, though I understand its appeal.  I'd like to throw a 2nd option out playing off Tom's sample and that would be if the bar code and pricing is out of the picture for now, place the FSC logo down in that lower right corner to maintain better balance and the card number (GREAT idea Tom!) in the lower left corner.
 
Like Tanya my husband agrees with her hubby, that it's losing our identity.  In that discussion, I realized that perhaps what is needed is a place for an 'Icon, Avitar or Profile Picture' whatever you want to call it, which displays in the forum and in our bio which represents the artist.  Then a BOC Logo upload/design space with set standards by GCU which reflects the artist's business.
 
Just added food for thought.
