GCU Forum - regular sales???

James_137906 GCU Newbies artist Posts: 21	regular sales??? Aug 13^th, 2009, 7:08pm I'm just curios to know if anyone is actuall making decent monthly sales.Or are sales very speratic? In othe words don't give up your day jobs around here.....smile Thanks, James

Hi James,

Well, I make consistent sales and have only been here since April. I sell several cards a week and sometimes there is a bulk order included in those sales...however I would have to sell more than 2000 cards a month just to pay my mortgage Grin

That isn't likely. Most of us have our work on other sites in addition to GCU and it's the combination of sales that begins to put a dent in those bills.

Reply #2 - Aug 14^th, 2009, 2:53am I just joined and have sold a few cards, but I never thought I'd become rich by selling cards It's the creative process that I like best, but most of my graphics were collecting dust on my harddrive. Now I put them into cards and anything I sell is a bonus

strictly "mad money" status. To make enough to live on selling online, you really have to diversify and sell images several ways and on several venues. There are those who do it, depending on your life style but for most of us it is a little extra to help out with the bills, add to our supplies or have a little pocket change. For others it is a means to share our art or be a part of making someone else happy

CP used to be a major income, but well, not any more since they made some changes. SmugMug is my bread and butter. Just started my 2010 calendars at Lulu (used to have them on CP). I make more sales at another POD. This is probably my fault as I don't have as much time as I'd like to promote my website.

GCU is the second-best place, but it is a distant second. I make money selling books on Amazon mostly. However, July and August have been smashing months for us so far.
