Do you sign your name if
May 6th, 2009, 9:11am

the saying is one that you wrote?  Mine are very simple and short but have noticed
some people add their names under with author on some.  Do you know any rules?
I do not know but it takes away to add and while pending I could remove.

This is one I just finished - http://www.floralshops.net/images/gateway_girls.jpg

Your verse is very beautiful.  I think you should keep your name credit at the bottom. It's very subtle and doesn't detract from the beauty of the card.  People like to know where beautiful verses come from.

For what it is worth, I agree.  I believe your author credit is tasteful and gives your art of writing a special recognition.

I agree.   The way you do it is very elegant and doesn't distract from the card.

May I ask another really dumb question?  This one has to do with whether to have the
card printed in matt or gloss.  I could order them as I have chosen and then go in and
order them the other way - but thought maybe someone knows the rule for this too.

By the way, thank you, I lost many family over a short time and now words come from
heaven I know.

Cinda,
When I first started with GCU, I used glossy exclusively because I didn't like the way matte was printed.  However, several months ago, GCU changed printers and the matte is now just as beautiful as the glossy.  So, it comes down to individual preference.  I tend to let each individual design "speak" to me in either glossy or matte.  I definitely use matte if there is a lot of white in my image.   If there is a lot of bright colors, I sometimes choose glossy.    Bottom line, I keep a check on how things are going by frequently buying some of my own cards and making sure I am choosing right regarding the printing of matte or glossy.   We're lucky here at GCU that we get terrific printing.

Hi, Cinda!

Like Delores, when I first started here, I used the glossy print.  But, after seeing the matte finish, I made it my default.  Really, both are beautiful, and make my efforts look so nice!  Smiley  And if you decide to make a card other than your default setting, you can do that just by checking glossy or matte.  Personal preference for me is that photo cards would be glossy, but, I've purchased some very vivid, non-photo, cards that have looked stunning in the glossy finish.  Okay, so, either way, you'll get a beautiful card.  Smiley
