Kath,

My view is that for $2.79 a thief could buy any card, scan it, and have an image that is near original.  I've not heard of a single case where someone did that, or stole an unwatermarked "large" image, and profited in a way where someone might be looking to collect damages.  A risk, yes, a large one, no, imo.

The new large image looks big on our 72dpi screens, but it is still only 650p x 470p, which is very small when printed at 300dpi (2.2" x 1.6"), rather small to have commercial value.

I personally think my sales would suffer dramatically with any obvious watermark, especially if some buyers don't really know what it is, and might not place an order thinking it would actually show up on the printed card.  Our image and verses are what they are here to buy and, at least for me, I want to show the best and clearest views.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for your reply.  It is good to have the facts.  Yes, like you, I don't want to lose any sales.  I've always used a watermark, it would be interesting to see if not using one would generate more sales for me.  I will have to think about this, but you gave me some great information to mull over.  I appreciate your taking the time to respond.
Thanks.
Kathy

One of my newly created cards (still pending approval, so no example) is a field of yellow flowers behind a fence with a row of trees in back and a beautiful blue sky with one puffy white cloud.  A nice photograph.  But with the new watermark with the big X across it, the blue sky now has what looks like a jet trail  Huh.  I love a jet trail in a blue sky as much as the next person, but this is just the watermark.  I have been removing all the watermarks from my images, especially those that have text on the front as the rows of marks make the text hard to read.  I don't want a watermark on my images and if there has to be one, I would really like to see that great big X done away with.  When the watermark changes the integrity of the image, it is not useful and if anyone buys that scenic card, once it's approved, simply because of the "cool jet trail", they are going to be very disappointed to receive it and find out there isn't one  Sad.  Just my thoughts.  Have a nice Sunday, everyone.

ps - like Tom, I have my preferences set for NO watermark - go figure.

Yes, they know about the watermark showing up on new cards when it shouldn't, and I suspect in a few days this will be fixed and harmony will once again return to the Universe.

Hi,
I'm interested if anyone knows anything about MyFreeCopyright.com. I've found them on internet at
http://myfreecopyright.com/ . It seems interesting - has anyone any experiences with them or with similar copyright protection?
