Maria_135531 GCU Newbies artist Posts: 43	I really wish u would do this Mar 10^th, 2009, 7:57pm if we could add our own text on the front too, it would really be helpful instead of saving the image with the text, this way if we mistakenly make a spelling mistake while saving the image, we will not have to erase the whole image and make a new one , and one design will easily be edited for other occasions? pleeeeeeeeeeeeease Maria

But this has been discussed before...good luck.

I'll second that, also that yes it has been asked before so we'll see. I know for myself the benefits of this for the artist is: 1)Much easier to create multiple cards with the same image. 2) Saves memory on my computer from having to save all the different editions 3) I would be able to post 5x as many cards benefitting both GCU and myself.

Maria, your posting made me think that perhaps you could adjust your work flow to make things easier on yourself. I apologize if I've misunderstood, but it sounds like you're saving only a merged version of your image, giving yourself no allowance for mistakes or easily making multiple versions of the same card. What you're suggesting would make things easier, but as a workaround to make corrections/multiple cards from same image easily, I do the following:

1. Save first image as tulip mothers day.native format I use PSP most of the times so this image would be tulip mothers day.pspimage I save this version with all layers, even the template.

2. After the image is exactly the way I want it, I Save as . . . tulip mothers day merged.pspimage and I merge all layers (after deleting template layers)

3. I export the image to jpg.

So I always have 3 versions of the same image. Then, if I want to change the wording (make a Mother's Day card for Sister into a Mother's Day card for Aunt, for example) or correct something, I open the first version (non-merged) and Save as . . . the new file name and follow the same work flow as above.
