I'm in favor of all three. I haven't thought much about the watermark before - just assumed it was the proper thing to do - having it on the image. Now, I'll rethink it! Better the proposed way, then before. I see the difference.

The credits on the front of the card looks tacky, so I like the idea of each person including it on their own image in an appropriate way if they want it. The back of the card is a great place for them.

The medium view would be helpful.

Thanks for all of your considerations, both of the buyer and the artist. Your vigilance in making the site always better for both is to be commended.

If you will have a larger view of the image, (which I like), then artists should put their name in the image, discretely to the edge. Accept that images will be stolen for web and personal use, and see that this as an opportunity for advertising and exposure, sometimes even licensing work- provided ones' name or url is part of the image. People will google or visit your site/store because they've seen your name/url on an image.

The changes sound good to me.

Hi -

I'd like to welcome the three proposed changes - all to the good, I believe - and agree with Tammy's wish for a Zazzle-type zoom feature, if ever the opportunity arises. I do think, from what I've seen and heard, that theft remains a threat, unfortunately. The possibility to guard against it should stay available; how lovely to receive a better view of our cards.

Not high quality, only 72 dpi but it is still very easy.

The first steps of these changes have been made.

1) IMAGE BY CREDITS
We will keep the IMAGE BY CREDITS field on a card by card basis because it is displayed under each thumbnail image throughout the site. This will allow storefronts that have work from more than one artist and give proper credit. This field will no longer by printed on the front of the cards.

2) IMAGE PROTECTION WATERMARK
If you want to CHANGE YOUR WATERMARK SETTINGS please do so BEFORE TUESDAY 4/28. Starting 4/28 we will begin regenerating all card images removing all "Image by" credits and applying new watermarks based on your Global Preferences settings. These regenerated images will also reflect the new image sizes.

We have reset your new Watermark settings as follows:
Old Watermark setting OFF = New Watermark setting Medium OFF/ Large OFF
Old Watermark setting ON = New Watermark setting Medium OFF / Large ON

Good to know...

We strongly recommend leaving the watermark OFF of the Medium images. Our conversion numbers are showing that on the View Details page (this is where the Medium image is displayed and is most often where search engines drop searching shoppers) the cards without watermarks perform better (read "sell better").

Thanks for your patience over the next week while we smooth out the process for the new watermark to be applied to existing cards starting 4/28.
