How is cover of card personsalization handled?
Feb 24th, 2008, 8:06pm

I would really appreciate a step by step procedure explanation.  ......name, age
specific, ect.  Does the customer contact us or does GCU?  Do we by-pass the pending- or go to edit image?  Please Help.  Norval

Hi, Norval!

There is no step-by-step procedure as such. We've experienced three ways a customer can request card personalization:

1) Wanted: New Cards Forum Topic
When a customer can't find what they want, and uses the GCU-provided form to request a specific card (such as the recent request for a rainbow-themed rehearsal dinner card), Mindy will post that request in the Wanted: New Cards forum topic for everyone to see. If you make a card for that request, be sure to post in the topic with a link to your card or product ID#. Mindy will make sure the customer receives notification.

2) Private Request to Artist
A customer has the option of privately contacting a specific artist (there's a contact link in the store) and requesting them to create a personalized card.

3) Private Request to Artist (Part II)
Occasionally, a customer will contact GCU directly asking if a specific artist will either create a new card or alter an existing one. Shaun or Mindy will forward all such requests to the artist in question.

For personalizing, you won't usually want to alter an existing card by using the Change Image option. You'll want to create a new card (how you do that is up to you) and submit it exactly the same way as you do normally. The card will still have to pass the approval stage.

Thank You Corrie for replying so quickly.  It's 2:15 am here in Missouri and I wanted to upload some designs that could have age specific personalization, but I didn't want to put any information for the customer in the artist notes until I knew how it was handled.    ......Norval

Thanks Corrie, you're right on.

One other consideration depending on the level of personalization of the card you may want to set it as a Private card.
