Divorce Greeting Card with broken wedding bells
Jan 15th, 2008, 7:08pm

We received a request for divorce cards that include a pair of broken wedding bells on the cover.

These cards will be mailed to the family and friends of a couple going through a divorce.  The customer would like something with an elegant/classy feel, as it's not a bitter divorce, and the two are still friends and will still see each other from time to time.

Inside text is not needed as the customer will provide his own text.

Cards can be added to this category:

I made one as well.
If it's not quite what the customer wants, I can modify it easily.
I'll make more variants tomorrow,, too tired now.

I'm noticing an unusual delay in card approval myself.  I have 10 cards pending...one of them was submitted yesterday.  Must be something going on behind the scenes that they are addressing???  I'm thinking we are spoiled on the quick approval time we ususally get????   Wink

Paul.

first of all WELCOME to GCU!  I've only been here a few days, myself.  But it is a friendly, helpful place to be and I have high hopes for it.

As for your question.....during the week, my experience has been that cards are usually approved very quickly, per my personal experience...usually within a couple of hours.  Today is unusual.  Also, if you upload on the week end.....it may be Monday before they are approved.

Correct me, anyone, if I'm wrong....but my assumption is that this is a manual process!!!  Imagine how daunting that might be with all of us trying to keep up with an approaching holiday, etc!  With this considered, I think the approval time is GREAT!

Hugs!

Hello,
To answer your questions and shed some light on the card approval process...

Here's a link to response times you can expect:
http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/forum/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1195392208/4#4

Yes, this is a manual process.  We not only review the cards for appropriateness but just as important  we check your work on the categories, profile, keywords, etc.  We even catch some typos in titles and inner verses sometimes.

Making corrections to the cards is the most consuming part of the task.  We  usually add a "Note" in the approval email indicating the reason for rejection, as well as changes and suggestions for approved cards.  You should read these notes to see what mistakes you may have made and how to do it properly next time.

Over the last few days we've had a larger than usual queue to approve, which is great!  Keep 'em coming  Cheesy  Typically we have 100 plus cards a day and lately it's been double, 250 plus!  We suspect many of you artists made New Year's resolutions to "create more cards in '08" and are off to a fast start!    Wink

We're thinking of ways that we can make this more efficient.  Perhaps allowing cards to be "offline" so they can be rejected so you can make the fixes and then easily resubmit them.

Also, as a self supporting community category "owners" could be assigned to interested artists to be responsible for approving cards designated for their category.

Additionally we're thinking of ways to better educate artists on how to best categorize, profile and use keywords.  Any suggestions?

We appreciate your patience with our approvals.  Please know we are committed to getting them approved ASAP but a priority on doing so correctly so your cards show up in the correct searches, categories and reminders.

Mindy

Sounds interesting!!!!

Additionally we're thinking of ways to better educate artists on how to best categorize, profile and use keywords.  Any suggestions?

Here are some suggestions that *might* be useful:

Determine:
1. Occasion
2. Identity of receiver and or sender
3. Action occurring in design (laughing, shouting, playing etc)
4. Colour/s
5. Emotion conveyed
6. Concept conveyed

I REALLY think that the approval process at GCU is both efficient and lightning fast - could be because of the time difference.
By comparison I submit to a stock site which mostly takes 3+ days to approve!!!

BTW Mindy my order from November still has not arrived - can you let me know the easiest way (for you) to get the cards to me. I'm just eager to see themSmiley

Thanks
Eugenia
