Metallic Ink & Glitter?
Jan 2nd, 2008, 7:34am

Tis the season to take down all the greeting cards that the company has received where I work.  I usually get the pile and look through them for the ones I like front "cover" wise to frame for my desk decor (in small picture frames, the really nice ones make beautiful small framed prints!).

This year, as I looked through the pile, I found maybe 3-4 cards out of at least 40-50 that did NOT have either glitter or metallic ink (either on the image or writing).  I am thinking this is showing a trend of sorts, at least in corporate/business cards (the ones I received personally were more of a reverse-only one had glitter, the others were plain).

So, with this in mind, I thought I would ask if GCU has looked into this option.  I'm not quite sure as an artist how I would communicate where the glitter or metallics would go, but I guess we could all figure it out if it were a possiblity!

Mettalic or foil ink, typically gold or silver, in general is possible with laser printing, however we have not explored as an option with our printing partner.  We will ask them if it's an option they offer.

Glitter of course like any other embellishment would be considered post-printing and not an option.

We'll post back when we get any information.

Thanks Mindy!  There was more gold/silver printing than glitter, so of the two, I'm glad to hear that would be the more possible one.
