GCU Forum - Traffic Analysis

Christine_183486 GCU Newbies artist Posts: 32	Traffic Analysis Dec 31^st, 2011, 9:56am Hi I'm new here and haven't made any sales yet. However I have had some card clicks and store visits in my store report. However when I ask for Traffic Analysis I just get the headings showing and no figures. Should this report apply to all stores or just mine? Either way shouldn't I expect some figures? Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Get more of them in your store so they have a better chance of being found! By the looks of the data, it's GCU-Wide not store-unique, but there may be a way to do that. GCU will tune in next week to this thread and provide more info I'm sure

The traffic analysis is for the entire GCU site. The only reports for individual stores is from the store report.

The traffic analysis is beneficial to see what search terms (and from where) are leading to GCU. I guess you can view as a sort of trending. The data from the traffic analysis can also lead to product development for example: Between October and December of 2011 there was one search for "happy birthday teacher" and nearer to the top of the page there was a search for "Halloween Potluck Invitations". As an artist I might want to design cards targeted for those concepts.

To run the traffic analysis reports you must specify the date range. I usually put in a range longer than 2 months. It just seems to work better. You don't need to enter a keyword but you can if your looking for something specific. Click on refresh report after entering the date range.

Thank you for that very useful explanation, Sun At Night! I was just testing out the traffic analytics a couple days ago and, like Christine, I wasn't having any luck getting results. But when I did it this evening with your suggestion--for a period of a few months--I got some great results!

I tried changing the date range and on my second attempt (making it even bigger than the first attempt) I finally got some data which was just what I wanted. GCU wide statistics are what I think are most useful for this so I'm happy! Chris
