Declining of My Cards Are Getting Alittle Old

AngryPretty bad GCU declines my cards and say they are not good, but when I buy them for my own use they are wonderful printed out. I think you should see what they look like printed out before saying if they are good quality or not. Well because of this last decline of card I will be not submitting anymore cards. I will be focusing my cards on my other site Zazzle and maybe walmart. Walmart prints quality cards for under a $1.00. Plus you get a nice envelope with it. I will leave what I have already here, but for now on I will not submit anymore of my work. I think you should really look at a printed copy before declining everyones work!!!!!!

Right, my last approved card was from a customer request here so I put it on fast track, came back with "edit and reSubmit" so I edited as was told and resubmitted; again it came back more edits, and again, and again always with different edits, finally the last time they asked me to change my category, with all the edits it no longer fit the customer's request, they said.   Smiley

So I changed the category and finally got it approved.

Totally understand your frustration, Jonice.  Maybe walk away and just give it a break for awhile and then come back.  I think some of the issues that are going on right now at the GCU Reviewer's table will work themselves out with a little time...

Please don't give up, i myself was wondering what was wrong with my card's.  I realized if at first you don't
succeed try, try again.  I have learned so much from my experiance with GCU, and over all the high's far out weigh the low's. I find i am improving all of the time, and so are you, take care and God bless you Smiley

Hello Jonice,

Just looked over your first page again at your store and love the images of the flowers and yes you take some unique angles with great composition.  I don't know if those are all from your garden, but if so, congratulations on a beautiful garden!

Back to your store, some of the images could use some different cropping or adjustment of light, but that takes time and I'm not sure what photo editing tools you have at your disposal.  But when you have time should start looking at your photos and seeing how you can improve those.   I'm amazed at how you have been hard at it with a family and working to still have over 900 cards in your store.  First thing though, if I was you, I'd try and make an image too fit the Header and put your store name up there.  Maybe one of your favorite flowers, lighten it drastically so as to make a faint background and add nice looking text over that.  Anything for starters and then as you pick up more photoshop or other editing tricks, you can make it better.  I just changed mine after over a year of the same thing and it is fairly simple.  I just cropped a photo to  a 2x10 format background then added text to the front.  The text tool allowed me to do individual letters which I placed semi-randomly along the beach to look like someone had written in the sand.  It was a little bit of work, but done without any elaborate software, so I know you can do something even nicer.

Don't get discouraged, try to figure out what the GCU reviewers are looking for, sometimes they even offer helpful suggestions when they return your cards for edit.  Try not to get the hair up on your back like I do.   Grin
They are sincerely trying to help, even if they're not always right.  They are human too!

Have a good Christmas and don't forget the most important thing about the holidays, loving and hugging on your loved ones!

Best always, Randy

Don't give up. You have pretty cards.  Sometimes taking a break helps and you get creative again.  I took a break for awhile and am not starting to make new cards again.  I get cards declined too and sometimes it can be fustrating, but hang in there...   Wink
