Applause for GCU and fellow Card Designers!

I feel very fortunate to have GCU as an outlet for my work and believe strongly that GCU is in the business of utilizing my greeting card designs, along with those of many others, to be a viable successful business. It's a win - win situation for both of us. The new, more thorough, review process is definitely a benefit to us all. I do not need or want to know who the reviewers are, or their qualifications, as I rely on GCU administration to make those decisions. My job is to create designs; GCU's job is to run the business and manage the staff. The quality standards they have set are not unreasonable or outlandish. Quality control is a sound business practice and I applaud GCU for taking the necessary steps to become more commercially viable.

I would also like to thank the GCU administrators and staff for:
--- their willingness to listen and communicate with us (card designers) with support and positive feedback through the GCU Forum and personal contact,
--- the exciting new technical additions to the site that allow us to provide cards that may be customized,
--- their continued support for educational efforts to help us grow such as on site GCU Wiki and the GCU Community site which are such valuable resources.

And last, but not least, Thank You to the many card designers who are willing to share their expertise and creative thought. GCU is a positive place to thrive and grow because of the efforts of so many individuals!

Kathleen,

That post isn't going to help you get more cards approved! Grin

I do agree with you though. The site is a fantastic place to market our work!

It doesn't mean all is perfect and there are a lot of growing pains that go along with evolving and adapting to the marketplace. There will always be bugs to work out, especially when new policies are put into place like the recent standards of marketability, but overall, GCU is doing a phenomenal job!

I can't think of a better place to call home, but then this is my only home when it comes to designing greeting cards.

I've only been here for 4 months and I love it...and I try to add at least 1 or 2 .... cards a week to my store..and everyone is so very helpful when I can't figure something out... Personally I found the new standards gave me a creative boost that I may not have taken before. I used to rely heavily on my photography but now I have rediscovered my drawing skills and am having a great deal of fun making critters and graphics designed specifically for categories.

I want thank them for giving me a reason to try to evolve further as a designer.

I totally agree.
It is a wonderful outlet for the very creative ideas that run through my head every day.
The help such as that from Doreen,and other very knowlageble people is truely wonderful.Thanks.
