Preview on Photocards
Sep 23rd, 2011, 5:07am

I'm enjoying making photo cards - apart from the fact that when I go to the preview, the text often seems to be double-spaced.

Is there a way to prevent this as it's often very time-consuming and frustrating to make all the adjustments stop it doing this and I sometimes don't end up with the font size I would have liked?

And if I'm irritated by it, I should think a customer would be too, when they come to customise the text. Sad

Hi Judy,

Is there a product id that you can provide so we can see what you're referring to?

I'm afraid there isn't, Shaun, because I fiddled with them till I managed to get it without the double spacing, though that meant sometimes reducing the font size more than I'd have liked. (And I don't think a customer would be as happy to fiddle with it!)

I do understand that sometimes the preview will show some of the words in a lower line if they won't all fit in one line, but this is different - it's definitely coming out double-spaced.

I'm not sure, but it may be when I use a particular font - the name of which I unfortunately can't remember at the moment! embarrassed

I had that problem to and it seemed to only happen when I made the text too big for the box that I created the text to go into....Try making the box bigger or the text smaller...that worked for me.

The problem was that I really wanted the text on two lines but it would only stop doing the double-spacing if I made the text so small that it all fitted on one line.

I suppose one way around it would have been to have had the two lines in two separate text boxes but I didn't think of that at the time and just made the text much smaller than I would have really liked.

For customizing the fronts of cards with text, I would like to see the ability to align the text 'vertically' as well as the existing 'horizontal' alignment.

Thank you!

I've just had a card 'returned for edits' because part of the text is outside the text area.

This has happened again because somehow the text got itself double-spaced where it shouldn't have.

To add to the confusion, it appears different in different 'views' and in one view the text isn't showing up at all.

Shaun, you asked me for a PID but I didn't have one at the time because I'd always managed to find a way around the problem by using a different font. But now I do have one -

Its: PID 879627

NB when I created the card, the text was all in one sentence, with the 'Number Ten' falling on the lower line, but still inside the text area.
