No Text Showing on Photo Cards
Sep 15th, 2011, 8:07pm

I noticed a glitch while trying to edit my photo cards today.  I wanted to edit one of my photo cards.  This was a card that is Pending-Submitted.  So when I went back to edit the card, I clicked on "Edit Front", all of my text boxes were showing on the right hand side of the screen, BUT, there were no text boxes or text showing "on" the card.  This made it difficult to edit the text.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thank you.

Yes, I did. But when I clicked each one to edit it and just "saved" without having changed anything, the text appeared on the card.

Hi Sheryl,
Can you provide a few product IDs and we'll take a look?

Hi Shaun,
Here are some of the photo cards that are missing the text boxes on the front of the cards.

Product Id: 863054

Product Id: 863068

Product Id: 862656

Product Id: 862545

The first two lines of this one are showing, but the third line is not
Product Id: 862795

This one has been approved, but the names are not showing on the cards ...
Product Id: 862509

Actually, after checking, a lot of my other cards are all doing the same thing.  Sad

----
I also want to mention, the reviewer had returned one of my photo cards stating that my text boxes were over lapping on the card.  I was asked to adjust the boxes which was fine, but I asked how can she tell they were over lapping when visually looking at the text they looked fine.  The reviewer stated, "When you are designing the card, what you see in Edit and Preview is actually what we see when reviewing the card. We see your blue line photo box that determines where the photo will be placed by the customer and your blue line text box(es) that determine where the text will be placed by the customer."   When I am designing photo cards, I do not see the blue line photo box as the reviewer mentioned.  It is difficult to line the boxes up when only the box I am working on has an outline around it and the other text boxes show just the text ... no outlines around the text.

Thank you for your help.

There's a blue line?  Yikes!  I need to get my eyeglass prescription checked!  Wink

Seriously, I'm not seeing a blue line either.  I'm seeing what Sheryl is seeing.

Phew ... Thank you Penny.  I feel so much better that you can't see the blue lines too and it isn't just me.  Smiley

Thanks Sheryl, the blue line is something that's available in our card review tools.  The reviewers basically see a border around all of the customizable text that you've added to your cards, so they are able to see if anything overlaps.

Thank you Shaun, but is there any way that the blue outline option around the text, could be visible to the artists as well?  So while we are designing we can see the overlap.  It sure would be a big help so we can see the problem on our end if the text boxes are close or over lapping!  I was getting so many returns from the reviewers on my photo cards for the over lap problem, which was frustrating for me, and I would guess for the reviewers who have to recheck the cards again.  If this problem could be alleviated upfront, it sure would be wonderful for everyone involved.  Smiley

Thanks again for your help.

Hello, I just made photo card (#865261) and am having a big problem.
I specified the color of the text on the front of the card to be a pale pinkish color, yet in my Pending-Submitted queue, it shows up only as black, and is illegible on my dark background. I have tried over and over to fix this. It shows up the correct color when I Save it, yet is always black at completion.
Also, I cannot access the inside text function. Again, I've tried everything, including re-making this card from start to finish at least 3 times. Nothing works; the text function is frozen.
Any suggestions?

Hello Again,
I tried to create another photo card (PID 865353) in addition to my last card (PID 865261) as described in my earlier forum post. This latest one will not even allow the sample photo to show in addition to the previous problem of showing no front text and no way at all to create inside text.
Thanks for looking into this problem.

Hi Ramelle,
We just made a few changes to address this issue, can you give it another try and let me know if you encounter the same issue?

Hi, Shaun,

Is there any way that the 'create a photo card screen' could incorporate that "blue line" for the artists to use/see, too?  I just had a card returned for edits because the reviewer's blue line showed that my transparent area was not large enough, but when I look, I can see that it covers the entire transparent area and a little larger for as the reviewer called it, "wiggle room," which is a great idea.

It seems like what the reviewer(s) see and what we see is different, based on this example.

I just think that giving us the blue line too would help us to get these elements right the first time, which would help out the reviewers, too.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply, Shaun.
I re-made card #865353 (newest attempt is #865386) and this time the front text appeared . . . but the text is spaced very wide and not at all like on the Preview. Still no way to write the inside text.
My earlier card (#865261) is still wonky, though I re-did all the text once more. No inside text either. Sigh . . .
I'm calling it quits for tonight and will try again tomorrow from scratch.
