Wonky type
Sep 15th, 2011, 4:58pm

hi there
I have had a few cards rejected in the last couple of days because I have tilted my type on the front.
It was deliberate.  Grin and looks pretty funky.
Is there precedence for this? and how do i plead my case?

thank you Smiley

You can email the review team at    cardreview@greetingcarduniverse.com

I don't understand why they would have a problem with that undecided

In general Jasmine, tilted text does not work well on a greeting card.  That's not to say they aren't exceptions when it works very well, usually that is when the tilt of the text follows the same line as an element in the design.

If the card(s) have been returned because of the tilted text, the chances are high that it simply does not look professional on that specific design.

As Terry mentioned; you are free to plead your case by responding to the same email that you received from the team.  That way the PID numbers are included so they can look at the designs again.

Good luck!

Thank you Smiley
I'll give it a go.
In a design sense it looks great.
The reviewer told me that it was because
the customer may view it as being a mistake.
I can see that point of view... but ultimately I like designs that are like me, a bit different Smiley
have a great weekend everyone!

I like that card, I think you did a good job of making it "Whimsical" (if thats a word).

Also the tilted text with the light shadowing makes it interesting.

I agree with Terry, the tilted text looks good on that card.

Cute card Jasmine.

Here are my thoughts after seeing the design.  The tilt if your text is only slight and slight translates to the eye as a mistake.  The tilt also is not at the same angle as the bee which also comes across as being a mistake rather than intentional.

My suggestion is you work with the text a bit more to align the tilt with the bee and/or rather than a plain tilt, see how a wave effect works to give the text a feel like it's flying with the bee.

Just thoughts, but I think you get the idea Smiley

I agree with the others who have mentioned that the tilt of the text would look more convincing (ie not a mistake) if it were at more of an angle. But, in principal, I like the idea of it tilting and I'd think it would attract customers too!
