Wacom Tablet Tutorial
Apr 3rd, 2011, 8:24am

Hi there...just me!

This week's tutorial is a must for anyone who has considered switching to a Wacom Tablet or anyone new to this marvelous tool.  On the right side of the screen you'll see Download Image, click on that and it takes a few minutes to load, but is well worth the time!

Also check out the Free for Commercial use Pencil Box Brush pack right below the tutorial on my Fan Page.

CREATE . INSPIRE . ENJOY!

Thanks, I haven't looked at it yet but I will. I have a Bamboo tablet. I have had it for about two or three years. I use it constantly, but can't say as I have mastered it. When drawing, I find my lines are shaky looking. I mostly use it for editing and getting into the small areas that I can't quite control with a mouse or touch pad by hand.

Would love to learn more about how to actually "draw" with it.

Hi Sandra,

I hope this tutorial can help with that, let me know.  If it doesn't I'll keep my eyes open for a more detailed Tutorial on using the tablet.

I found that with mine (I have an old Intuos 3) I had to work with the different tips and find one that best represented my strokes.  I had to work on calibration for stroke strength and I had to work a long time on developing a posture for my hand that better represented what was 'reality'...once I did those things, I'm very happy with drawing on my tablet  Smiley

Hi Sandra,

I found out with my tablet that I have to reverse my strokes for a straight line. When drawing with a pencil, I tend to draw lines towards me. With the tablet, it is more like painting - start closest to your body and stroke outwards. I don't know why it works for me, but try it. Maybe it will work for you as well. Also, the pen tool is a great tool. It has more control than the pencil tool and allows for changes with the line.

Take care,

Jannina
