A bit depressed !
Mar 29^th, 2011, 3:25pm

On 1/1/2011, I received my first payment from GCU...( I joined in April last year )
$26.53 ( US ) .....$24.24 ( AU ) ...off to the bank I went with my Wells Fargo cheque ..so happy ....Thud...$10.50 was charged to cash this, leaving me with the grand amount of $13.74....Not much for the sale of 49 cards !!! Oh well I do enjoy creating them, and who knows I may sell a bundle in the next year !!

Is it possible that if you simply deposit your check into your account, then they wouldn't charge you the fees? I would look into it. Also, have you considered a paypal account? I'm new at this, but I thought I would post this to help think outside the box. Good luck!

I suppose, you would have paid less if you had deposited it instead.
Next time, you will receive a bigger amount and in less time.
The secret is exactly in the time. It takes time to be known.
You have very nice creations and you are enjoying them. Now, just give
a little push to marketing. The fruits will come.

Like the others have said, the answer is paypal but also be aware that paypal take out a small percentage because you are receiving overseas funds but still it is less than the banks take out. I too am in Australia. The other plus is that paypal is quicker than waiting for a cheque to travel the miles to you.

Here is a snippet I copied from paypal:
Our fees are the same for all accounts – Personal, Premier, and
Business. We charge fees for the following circumstances:

   * When you receive money from a purchase.
   * When you send or receive payments from outside your country or
region.
   * When you send personal payments using a credit card. The sender
determines who pays the fee.

Transaction fees can range from 1.1% to 2.4% + $0.30 AUD. If you receive
a payment from outside your country, you're charged a 1.0% cross border
fee.

Paypal does not charge you, they are basically an online bank, safe, secure,
I have used them since the beginning's of paypal, they have online shops
and merchant resources for businesses this is how they make their money
bit like normal banks

but for small business personal use so far they have
never charged, I get what I put in, your money is tranfered directly into your
bank acount via paypal, 0 taken off.

They are atached to things like ebay again a big money earner for them.

Even dominos pitza take paypal now, which made me laugh Grin

you have to
be either living online or desparate to use that one Tongue

No offence if you do it's just funny as heck Tongue

I use it to by things (pay off by end of month and you won't have credit issues). You get rewards points, which I then use to buy gift certificates. So, I get free stuff. I love paypal! Good luck!
