What sort of protection do you use?

When you write your own poem or verse and use it on a card either outside or inside how are you protecting your work from others using it?  Huh

But still no one gave advice...the title must have scared them off!  Grin

 Grin  Ditto!

I have wondered about that too Cheryl. It seems anyone could use it, how would you prove you were the original author? Except perhaps by the date of your card submission...perhaps  undecided
Maybe some of our writer/artists will chime in.

Ha! I thought this was a spam post too at first! lol!! Didn't want to touch it! Technically, the minute something is published by you, then it is actually copyrighted. So keeping track (by computer) of the creation date proves it's yours and the sheer fact it's on your store. It still won't prevent someone from trying to steal it and the trick is to know when that happens. Sometimes you find out, other times you don't or it takes forever to know.

It's the same for authors and their ms. Once it gets out and talked about, how do you prevent someone from stealing it? Music is stolen everyday off the net. It's a rampant problem everywhere.

Spend your energies being creative and don't put too much energy into worrying about it. Put a copyright disclaimer on your store if you want. Sometimes it's reminder enough for the would be thief.
