Welcome Home Veteran Card Rejected--ID 768842
Mar 19th, 2011, 3:34pm

I reread it and can't understand why it was rejected.  The image is clear, the wording concise and gramatically correct.  Yet it was rejected.

I received no indication of why the reviewer rejected it and think it a timely, appropriate card given the number of service personnel returning from overseas lately.  I for one welcome our returning veterans with open arms and deep gratitude for their sacrifices over there and here.  I also thank our local public servants when the opportunity arises, because they do jobs no one else will.

The best thing to do is to directly reply to the card reviewer, diplomatically asking for their reasons and suggestions for improvements that will get you across the line. Also, reviewers get tired and can accidentally "hit the wrong button", so to speak.

Cheers,

I would if I knew how, Rosanne.  LOL Smiley  I also figured this was another 'teachable' moments that would benefit my fellow artists, so I posted it this way.

Hi Petra,

There's usually an email address cardreview@greetingcarduniverse.com...(I think that's it) showing in blue toward the end of the returned card email. You should see it there.
Send them a note and tell them which card number, and ask about your card. I have always found them to be very helpful.

Hi Petra,

We can't see the card in question unless you want to put it in your private gallery and provide a link here so we can all see what you are referring to.

But the reviewer is the only one who can give you a reason why.  There wasn't any explanation in the email you received back?

Nada, it just said 'declined'.  The two that were sent for edits had explicit reasons and I fixed the issues, so they should pop up soon I hope.  Okay, I'll check out the email.  I went directly to my store to see what made review and what needed fixing, since the mailbox is flooded and it's difficult to find the emails I need.

If you are using a google email address, you just click on 'reply' to send the email back to the reviewer. Sorry I can't help with any other emails, but I should think all have something similar. Look at the email you received and see if you can find the word 'reply' or a similar word.

Hi, Sorry about the frustration. It's hard to know how to to avoid future declined cards if you don't know what the problem was with your card.  Could it be a possible copyright issue? I had a card declined with no explanation except the usual message about copyright that is tacked on the end of all emails of card approvals.  My declined card was a take off of a slogan that I thought might be in the public domain, since there are similar cards on GCU that were approved. My declined card was "Got Aloha" for an Hawaiian card.  There are cards on GCU that say "Got Blood" with a vampire, "Got MLK" for Martin Luther King Day, Got Fish, Got Birthday, Got Chocolate, Got Yarn and on and on, so I wondered why my card was declined when approval wasn't a copyright problem for those cards. I replied to the card review team email that had declined my card asking for an explanation, but never heard back.  cry   Now all I have is "got declined"  Cheesy

Catherine, why not ask Admin to look into the rejected card if the review team won't explain.  I would be really annoyed having a rejection without an explanation as to why.  How will folks learn to avoid repeating the same issues in the future?  If the reviewers are going to take the time to reject a card or send it back for edits, the least they can do is offer a reason why.

Petra, hang in there... most of the reviewers I've had to inquire with lately have been most helpful.   Hopefully you get an explanation and can edit the card to meet the necessary requirements.

Petra,

We've sent you an email message regarding this card. Please note that the original email to you regarding this card did contain a reason the card was declined.

Catherine,

We have sent this question to the administrators and will get back to you next week. Please see
http://www.publaw.com/article/how-much-of-someone-elses-work-may-i-use-without-a sking-permission-the-fair-use-doctrine-part-i/
for information regarding parodies and fair use. It's not as clear an issue as we'd like.

Thank you for your patience, Catherine!
